We stayed in Zocalo for 4 nights. The first three in a room with private bathroom which was comfortable and clean. Rooms with private bathroom are all one level down from the common area whereas dorms and rooms with shared bathroom are on the same level. Our last night we stayed in one of the four rooms with balcony facing...

Very well priced with the good vibe of likeminded travellers with a nice central hangout area. No air conditioning but it is a backpackers not a hotel. Very good ceiling fans which did a fair job of helping you sleep.

I loved this place! Can't recommend it highly enough for the location, the staff and, of course, the legendary breakfasts! Moises, the owner is a great person to know and really cares that everyone staying there is happy. From the info and advice on offer, to the generosity, warmth and hospitality, all in all a top place to stay! And...

Excellent location, right in the centre. Rooms are fairly spacious and breakfast is quite generous with fresh omelettes being served. Quite clean in general. It's a lively hostal, and a great place to meet fellow travellers if you're on your own.

As this was my first time in a hostel, I found the place to be pretty good. In Merida, you simply can't beat the location of Hostal Zocalo right on the square. Our view was absolutely gorgeous and I enjoyed hearing the street noise at night. We staying in a room without an ensuite so we used their shared showers...

Can't beat Zocalo for location - right on the main historical square with lots of great sights, bars and restaurants nearby. Our private double room was a disappointment - downstairs near the laundry and people could see in (room 15) as they walked down the at night when we had the light on (despite the young guy assuring us this...

A comfortable place to stay in city centre. great location, the private room was spacious. Very comfortable bed and linen, I can see how on a warm night you could feel a lack of breeze as the room is a bit hidden, fortunately we had some cloudy days and cool nights. No views, only an internal patio. Everything seemed very...
