The place is good to sleep, has hot and cold water, breakfast, good price about 280 pesos for a private room for 2. If you plan on just getting there to sleep is great if you want to chill there there's not a lot to do, in conclusion it is fine.

The location is great, staff is really friendly and will prepare a nice breakfast but dorms and bathroom needs lots of maintenance, not hot water available and general cleanliness specially in dorms us needed.

I dont know when all the people leaving great comments here were in Santa Lucia (which period) but we were in september. And it was awful. All the linen we'd got were dirty. Breakfast was said to be included, but the next morning was no breakfast, nowhere. When we went to the kitchen to see, there was a trace that...

Santa Lucia is an amazing place and exactly as a hostel should be. Full of character, charm, warmth and comfort. It has the perfect mixture of a chilled and fun atmosphere in a beautiful colonial building. As Mathieu said "It is not a factory hostel"! Santa Lucia would be nothing without Lizzie. She is the heart, soul and love within...

I decided to stay at Hostal Santa Luciawith some friends because I had heard excellent things about the Hostal whilst travelling. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. The location of the Hostal is perfect: bang in the centre of Merida, about a 2 minute walk (probably less) to the main Plaza. It is on the same road as some of...

This is the worst experience I've ever had a abroad, but perhaps I should consider myself lucky. I woke up at 4:30 am to catch my 7 am flight out of the country at this hostel. There was no desk attendant when I got up. The doors of the hostel were locked, and there was no key. The telephones didn't...

I live in Cancun and went to Merida for a wedding. I had made a reservation two weeks prior through their website and received a confirmation number and everything. I even wrote to ask that the reservation had been made a few days before. I received no response. The day of the wedding, however, I arrive only to be told...

This was the worst place we stayed in in 4 mths of travel. The worst case of bed bugs i have ever seen. They say on the net there is breakfast, we were never offered it and didn't see anyone eating in the morning. Staff is very cold. The enterance to the private rooms are inside the womens dorm so...
