The hotel is nice, the rooms are clean, everything worked well and it has a good location. But the best part was the staff, everyone was very nice and always glad to help. In general, people in Mérida are extremely nice and the food is great.

We had an overnight at the Gran Real Yucatan. The hotel is located in a quiet side-street off the busy main Boulevard and close to the centre (walking distance) of Merida. The hotel was a former grand Spanish-colonial villa, now converted to a hotel. Rooms are centred round a large garden/courtyard, with dinner and breakfast served al fresco. All come...

Drove to Merida from Playa del Carmen for a quick overnight visit. Would recommend knowing exactly where you are going, especially if you are a first timer like me as calles cross calles in unexpected ways that can be very confusing. Hospitality here is great, safe and friendly in this deeply historic neighborhood. Would recommend Almendros restaurant (easy walking distance)...

Stayed in Gran Real Yucatán one night while visiting Merida, waiting time at the reception was above average, and I was the only person waiting to be helped. My room was reserved for 2 people, however they insisted that Expedia only reserved for one person so they charged me extra for the 2nd guest. I was on an extended holiday,...

We spent 3 nights at the Gran Real, booked by our travel agent as part of a tour. Comfortable room on 4th floor, overlooking the back of the hotel. Good buffet style breakfast. Very good location just 2 blocks from Calle 60, the main drag, & Parque Sta Lucia. I have only given 3 stars due to unfortunate incident: my...

The lobby gave the impression that the hotel would be luxurious but in fact the room was dated and definitely gave the impression that it wasn't particularly clean. Blood spatters on the wall beside the beds were not encouraging. Breakfast was fine, with a good selection of foods but unfortunately cold foods were covered with cling film which many guests...

The hotel public areas are beautiful. The rooms, clean and bright. The restaurant is very good. The room was quiet. The locations is close to the main plaza and other central points of interests but not in the middle of it, providing isolation from their noise.

The pictures look great and when you walk in you will be impressed but the second i walked into our bathroom I knew it wasn't clean. I at the time had a cold and i could smell how it smelled like a public bathroom, there were streaks in the toilet and water stains all over the mirror and the floors...

What a splendid entrance to this hotel giving onto a quadrangle courtyard. Beautiful marble everywhere, attractive decoration and comfortable seating. Charming receptionists. A place to park one's car which is a precious advantage so close to the town centre. Everything is within walking distance. But this is where best impressions fade away. We had a small suite. The bed was...

The hotel is quite large which you wouldn't think so from seeing it from the street but once you walk inside you are welcomed by beautifully decorated interior with lush and well manicured garden in the central courtyard. The rooms are also well designed, spacious and most importantly clean, the one we stayed also came with a small balcony. There...
