I stayed for one night and loved the decor. It was full of antiques and it was a throw back to the late XIX century. Service at the front desk was professional albeit a bit cool. The shower and tv were adequate. The best part was its central location in the old neighborhood of Mérida. It is safe and has...

A wonderful historic hotel in an ideal central location. A big thanks to Gran Hotel employees, Roberto and Santos for making our stay so enjoying. The surroundings are inspiring and evoke the essence of Merida. Be sure to check out Mansion Montejo (behind the plaza statue) for excellent cerviche and great food, we ate there twice and it was first...

Built in the early 1900's, this hotel offers historic lodgings at an extremely reasonable price. We paid approximately $50 USD per night. The size of the rooms was expansive, with both antique details (like operable mini-doors within the main entry doors, in order to allow air circulation pre air-conditioning) and antique furnishings, as well as modern touches (like air conditioning,...

We spent a couple of nights here based solely on information gleaned from the internet. We were not disappointed! The hotel, its' rooms, décor, and even most of the furnishings are all over one hundred years old. There is no elevator, so be aware of this if you have mobility issues. Our room was clean, had perfectly functional bathroom facilities,...

Our three night stay here was very nice. Room was spotless, bed comfortable and our room on the third floor was very quiet - probably because it was at the back of the hotel. The location was ideal for enjoying the Plaza Grande and Parque Santa Lucia. The wifi worked great in common areas, shower had plenty of pressure and...

We stay for 3 nights, the recepcionist was always helpful. The hotel is at a great location just one block from the plaza and has a little nice park in front to relax. The hotel has little wear but nothing to big. The restaurant on site "main st restaurant" has tables outside, it serves good food but a little expensive....

This hotel is perfectly located. One block off the main square directly on Calle 60. This hotel is very old and full of charm and antiques. It's a perfect place for a night or two; it's lacking on comfort to stay longer. The bed in our room was a king size and very hard. The room came with a private...

My wife and I had to move to this hotel for the last couple of nights of our Mérida stay because our previous hotel was not available for the entire duration. There's no question that the building is gorgeous and the location is difficult to beat; the rates are hard to beat, too. But the beds could definitely use refreshing,...

I fell in love with this place the minute I saw it. Old World Charm and furnishings in the room where you would think you were in Europe with Old Spanish Charm. Hotel Built in 1901 and within walking distance of most attractions. Lobby was amazing and the Staff are Professional and Helpful. Christain was very good answering my questions....

We really enjoyed this simple, but elegant hotel in a perfect location to visit Merida for a few days. Steps away from everything, so the need for a car is very low. But this hotel is the oldest hotel in Merida. We had a comfortable king sized bed, a shower with hot water, and a cold refrigerator. I guess that...
