Hotel Medio Mundo continues to be an oasis just a few blocks from the center of Merida. The rooms are clean, quiet, and large, some with A/C if needed. The small pool is refreshing. The staff is friendly and helpful, as are the owner's Nicole and Nelson. The breakfast is set up in the courtyard and includes coffee, fresh juice,...

This hotel is about six blocks from the Plaza Grande. The breakfast was wonderful, consisting of yogurt, fruit, juice, breads, cheeses. We didn't get to the cold cuts because we were too full. The rooms are large. Ours has a separate dressing area and a huge shower and air conditioning. Jose, the manager, is very helpful and speaks great English....

We chose this hotel based on the good reviews on this site and we were not let down. The hotel is well located just a few blocks from the main square and even closer to lots of local restaurants. The owner looked after us and offered several good recommendations at our request. The hotel is colourful, peaceful, clean and tidy....

This is a wonderful place. The moment you walk in, you are transported into a beautiful garden with fantastic colors everywhere. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room, on the 2nd floor was lovely, again with gorgeous colors everywhere. It is about a 5 minute walk to the old colonial center and the Central Plaza. There is a...

The term "oasis" is often thrown about in reviews but the Hotel Medio Mundo truly lives up to the definition of "something serving as a refuge, relief, or pleasant change from what is usual". We stayed here for 5 nights in November. We arrived very late - almost midnight - but we were met promptly at the main door on...

We had stayed here only couple of days, as a treat after numerous stays in hostels. Besides we felt a bit unwell and thought we could use some luxury. The bathroom is spacious, the bed was big and comfortable. There is also a swimming pool to relax in and a small bar/restaurant serving snacks and drinks. It has a lot...

The staff here are just wonderful, and very accommodating. My husband and I stayed here in November; we arrived on a hot Sunday afternoon, and were welcomed with a cool, refreshing hibiscus tea. The location is good, just a short easy walk from the main plaza. The rooms are large and airy, and very clean. The bed was quite firm,...
