Location to Plaza, restaurants etc... The hotel is old and neglected. Needs TLC! The rooms are extremely basic. Areas of rooms are deteriorating as well as lobby area. Not the cleanest. We are well traveled and stay everywhere, stars are not important as are honest reviews. The price is cheap for a reason.

Hotel San Jose, is a comfortable hotel, very economic, it is located near to public sites in the Plaza Grande, restaurants, locals, museums, etc. The facade of the hotel is not new, but the rooms are clean, the water is not hot, but Merida, Yucatan is a hot city, believe me, you will want the cold water! The reception people...

You get what you pay, cheap old rooms. Two beds, private bathroom, tv (only local channels) nothing impressive. No parking spot and parking lots around are $12/hour. Location is great really next to Zocalo.

We arrive from Chichen Itza late at night, it's 2 a.m. and are lucky because the receptionist is awake :) The room is basic but decent and quite clean, We pay 290 pesos per night and stay two. It has two beds, a fan and a shower. It is situated close to Zocalo and breakfast is included in the price.

Our room was so mouldy and damp we literally lasted an hour! Do not stay here for health and safety reasons. The bed sheets were stained and the place is falling apart. Our room over looked what looked like a bomb site. We ended up spending double the amount of money we paid to stay here just to get out...

This is a cheap hotel in many points of view. We needed a stay for one night and we booked this hotel. The rooms are very basic the hotel staff was friendly but this is not a family hotel for families with small kids. The organization of the booking system is little confusing. Included in the price was breakfast which...

You get what you pay for. In the case of the Hotel San Jose, that's not very much. The rooms are dark, the beds too soft, the heat tough to live with, the shower temperamental at best, the overall cleanliness very poor. On the plus side, it's perfectly situated by the Zocalo, the staff are friendly and helpful and you...

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Mérida, not a minute far away from the "Plaza de armas" and the cathedral!! It has also his own restaurant with really good and cheap food. But the rooms just have fans and its just an oven inside the rooms.. And also a mosquito paradise, so be sure you have ur...

This is a very special property in a very special place. The nightly outdoor baths were amazing and the restaurant is very good and not too pricey. Only complaints were they didn't have any bikes that they advertise on their web site and the main pool was shut down for repairs and we weren't made aware of that.

The san jose was a solid choice for us, and only 200 pesos without tv but with private bathroom. Budget types take note!! After 9 months of travel (3 in mexico alone) we can say this place was a top choice for us. There is an attached restaurant that is authentic, right down to the prices, and the clientele! The...
