I have never had so many amenities and services in all of my travels! The bellmen were so helpful that they even tried to make cell calls for me, much to my surprise. The hotel is not fancy. The rooms were sufficient for a single or double. I was able to have a bathtub, order my ice to be refilled,... More

At first the room we booked was small, so we upgraded for a junior suite for really cheap price. The room was nice with a nice view of Paseo Montejo. The location was really good, is close to the nice areas of the city. The food wasn't nohing fancy but good to start your day.

The location of the hotel is good, but the staff is not professional nether helpful. They were rude and useless. I wanted to rest and I could hear everything on the next door room. On my exit they didn't even asked me about my experience with the hotel. Next visit will choose different hotel where the people knows how to... More

We have be using this for a training program and have found it to be fairly prices, clean, largish rooms and comfortable beds. Free coffee in the room but no tea, so I had to go get an electric tea pot as I was not able to get an electric kettle to make my own tea. The hotel serves am... More

We had a 2 night stay while we were in Merida. It's a nice exterior in a good location (within walking distance of the Gran Plaza). The lobby is nice and check in was very easy. The concierge helped us to book a tour to Chichen Itza and a cenote. The room was nice. We were given 2 double beds.... More

This hotel is about average... I usually like the older hotels because of their charm, but the pool looked nice and I thought it would be fun to stay on the Paseo de Montejo... Cons- it is NOT as clean as any of the other hotels I have stayed in during my Mexican adventures... Not filthy, but just not all... More

I don't get why they have printed 5 stars on their logo and it ain't! I had to take a cold water shower because hot water won't flow, I reported it to the lobby but they did nothing. Beds are not comfortable, it seems that mattresses are too old, you can feel the side that's been used the most. Besides... More

Room is spacious, bathroom tiny, view and street beautiful and located near lots of nice restaurants. All of which I can live with because the room is CLEAN, and breakfast & overall food in the restaurant was good.. but the beds are too low, too small and uncomfortable that it caused the most uncomfortable 5 days of sleep for a... I took a mini vacation to celebrate my birthday at the Hotel El Espanol. It was a great experience. I realize that what makes a great experience for one person does not necessarily make it a great experience for another. But, friendly, courteous, helpful staff; lovely amenities like a large swimming pool, various dining options including room service; and great... More

“Under no circumstances stay on the 4th floor as the live band music is deafening and the 1st floor is too close to the bar noise. Unless you might enjoy hearing karaoke music into the wee hours of the morning. We eventually ended up in room 215, which is probably the best compromise.”
