due to the nature of trip advisor, constant positive reviews are necessary to keep ahead of the pack. all i can add to the other 338 reviews is: they are all true. great location, friendly staff, beautifully decorated, firm beds, small sign...fantastic.

We stayed at Luz from New Year's Eve and 3 nights forward. It was simply lovely. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very nicely developed on the courtyard of one of the central Merida city blocks. We had a room on the top floor with its own terrass, and it is pure luxury to step...

Very beautiful place to stay, clean, beds are hard. (as usual in Mexico) A bit hard to find, the directions they send are spot on, although they have hardly any signage actually at the hotel. So watch for the big orange church, its right after it! Merida is quite different than anything on the Quintana Roo side, very 'europe' like,...

The Luz was lovely, welcoming, and helpful. Tom was patient with all my questions and helped to arrange our bus tickets and activities. Our room was beautiful and the garden pool was a perfect place to relax in the morning with an espresso coffee from the shop around the corner. Merida is charming and we enjoyed all the lovely art...

My wife and I spent a week here and loved it. It's in a great location - just a short walk from the central plaza - super convenient. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms that has a large living room with kitchen, separate bedroom, and bath. They provide a 5 gallon jug of water, which is always appreciated...

This was my 2nd trip to Luz and I loved every minute of it. The place is so relaxed.... Tom, the owner is just like the web site - funny and easy going. Guests I met around the pool expressed concern that their room would be gone because he doesnt request a deposit, but the room was waiting, as promised....

This delightful hotel could not be better if it handed out gold nuggets! The rooms? Spotless and tastefully decorated. The common areas? Sparkling and open and inviting. The staff? Superb! We will stay in the Luz en Yucatan every single time we visit Merida. It is an oasis away from the startlingly narrow and semi-dangerous narrow, slender streets with the...

The Luz has plenty of gushing, positive reviews, so it's probably unnecessary to just say the place is charming, relaxing, perfectly located, and offers a free liquor cart. What's more they floated me 102 pesos at checkout. I do intend to pay them back on my return.

My husband and I were at Luz in mid-December and had a great time. I had never been to Merida before and found that the location was perfect--not too close or far from the central plaza, just a few blocks away from a variety of restaurants and near a beautiful old church. We stayed in a standard room on the...

Beautiful building, friendly and trusting staff, complimentary liquor bar, comfy beds, wonderful showers, superb location. We only stayed a night, but I felt I could have spent the span of the entire at Luz en Yucatan.
