My husband and I just came back from a week at the Allegro Playacar. The resort was very different and unique. The 4 unit rooms are thatch covered and mexican style colored walls with ceramic tile. The top units are the same as the bottom other than they have balconies and although the bed was rock hard, I still had...

My husband and I have stayed at the Allegro four times over the last ten years or so. I ask myself what is it that keeps me coming back?. I think the two words that leap to mind are location and service. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk (5 minute cab ride) from Playa Del Carmen. The grounds...

I just returned from the Allegro Playacar. We got a good deal on an all inclusive trip, and it was worth every penny we paid. I don't know if I would pay full price for the resort though. The rooms were nice, they had air conditioning and a ceiling fan, we were in an upper room, so we had a...

Stayed at the Allegro from January 8th to January 15th, 2011. Booked through Nolitours. The grounds of the resort are extremely clean, and although the room we had was a bit sparten, it was very clean, lots of hot water, and the beds a little hard, found no problem sleeping. The food was excellent! Lots and lots of variety, something...

We just returned from a week at the Allegro Playacar and would probably stay there again. If you go expecting a 3 star, you won't be disappointed. We really liked the layout and that it's a small resort. And as much as we liked the 8-plex accomodations, your sleep really depends on who your immediate neighbours are. (Read; no soundproofing)....

This is the kind of hotel we look for in Mexico. Two story bungalows with lots of pool room and a great beach. The entertainment staff were great with lots of activities on the beach and poolside...(not enough in the pool but it was quite cold the first 5 days so the pool was freezing)..kept our teenage daughter busy and...

We were their from dec. 18 to Jan 1/11. We had a wonderful time. The food was just fine, we knew we were not staying at the Hilton. The beds were a little hard, but they were happy to accommodate with foam pads or what ever. You needed. We always tip very well, as the actual people helping you are...

The Occidental Allegro Playacar is a really homey, and cute hotel. The rooms aren't the most beautiful, but they have everything you need. I had no complaints. The airconditioner works, water preassure in the shower was great, beds were fine, they provided water bottles, the room had a safe and was very clean. I think that the hotel is a...

As I write this review, I start to get nostalgic in just thinking how wonderful this vacation was. I stayed at the Allegro Dec 21-28, 2010. We were 3 families, 7 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 children for a total of 11 of us. This was our second time staying at the Allegro but first for the other 2 families....

This hotel is lovely. It’s not your typical hotel tower with rooms. Instead you get to stay in Mayan style hut. The room is just big enough for 4 people. It has a bar fridge with bottled water that is free. Your room has a safe, iron, ironing board, blowdryer, coffee maker, no alarm clock, tub/shower and approx 5 hangers....
