We visited the Reef from May 11 thru May 21 with friends (aged 50-55). The landscaping is indeed beautiful, I can't imagine the upkeep but they do a nice job keeping it so beautiful. Our rooms were nice - water pressure - good, air worked good. Our TV died at 10:30 one evening, and the maintenance crew brought us a...

We stayed at The Reef for a quick get a way! Well, I have been back in the States 2 days now and I still have whatever "virus/bacteria" I contracted at the hotel. We spent at least 24 hours out of our trip vomitting profusely along with diareah, stil have diareah and had to take a sick day from work....

Went there for a destination wedding, everyone who attended (about 50) guests got very ill within two days of arriving. The hotel sourroundings are beautiful but that's about it, this place is terrible. The hotel denied anything going around until some of us, even guests not associated with this weddng went down to inform management as a group we all...

I spend Memorial day weekend (may 22-25th 2009) at the Reef resort with my fiance, mother and uncle. We were hoping for a relaxing vacation and to check out the resort for our destination wedding next year. We were hugely disappointing after the bad service and the fact that we spent 1 night in the hospital and 1 night in...

We visited the Reef for 6 days in May 09. The hotel is very beautiful, set in the middle of a jungle theme. There are waterfalls and cenotes to look at as you walk around the hotel. If you go all inclusive, be prepared for watered down drinks. The beach is beautiful and the entire property is kept very clean....

Dear Gladis Perez, My recent stay (5/21/2009-5/24/2009) was the worst experience I have had at any resort or hotel anywhere in the world. I travel frequently in Mexico, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia and the United States, and have never experienced such appalling food, service and accommodations. I have done my research and am well aware that you know...

We stayed at the Reef from May 20-24th. We're a young couple and love getting away, and the Reef turned out to be a great spot for it. The resort is inside "Playacar" which is a private area. The good thing about that is that the security does a really good job of tracking who comes in and out and...

My new wife and i just returned today from a four night stay at the Reef Playacar. When arriving to the resort my first thoughts: long drive in, but i guess that is the only way to playa del Carmen (about an hour and half after your driver makes a couple of stops.
