My wife , myself , and my 10 year old were at the Reef the same time (returned April 6). I could not agree more with their review. This was our third trip to Playa Del Carmen and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. THE GOOD: The staff was fantastic.I cant say enough about Pancho, and Claudia from the Animation team. They did...

We had a beautiful vacation at the Reef. The beach is as beautiful as the pictures, there are lots of longe chairs although...

My family just returned from The Reef Playacar on April 6th. I've used this site plenty so I felt obligated to write my own review to give people our thoughts about this wonderful place. We have 2 boys ages 11 and 14 that absolutely loved the trip. We've been all over the caribbean (Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Pacific side of...

We have stayed at a number of the All Inclusives in Playa and enjoyed this 2 night/3 day-stay much more than others. One key plus is that the hotel & its grounds are small. This means you don’t have long walks to the beach, restaurant, etc. It also allowed us to let our kids run pretty much free. The architecture...

We just came back form our trip and we were very happy with the Reef Playacar hotel. We chose it randomly, mostly basing our desicion on price and area. It is a 15-minute walk to Playa Del Carmen - or a 10-minute bike ride ( the hotel has bikes you can borrow, included). Very convenient if you want a change of...

The Reef Playacar was one of my favorites so far. We have been fortunate enough to travel to many destinations but none were as beautiful as Playa Del Carmen!! The area surrounding the Reef is BEAUTIFUL!! It's clean and safe and you can walk to town or the local "market" without worry! My sister in law and I couldn't get...

Location is great: 20 minutes walk to Playa del Carmen through beautiful Playacar. Possible to go by the beach or the boulevard. The 3-story building are organised in a big oval, with a 'jungle' garden in the center. Rooms have their own balcony. Best rooms are 2nd or 3rd floor, facing the garden. Our room was very clean, air cond....

OK.... title aside, we have been to: Cuba (several times), Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Panama... and the Reef Playacar is our favorite so far! I will start with the "negatives"; The food at the buffet is often warm, at best (except for breakfast) The entertainment is "mediocre" at best. OK....now the positives; This resort is small, but GORGEOUS!! The landscaping is...

After the hurricane that hit the playa del carmen area, the beaches had dramatically decreased in size and was very disappointing. This year, the Mexican government made a huge investment and loaded the beaches back with sand and it was back to normal, absolutely beautiful... The Reef Playacar is a smaller, more quite hotel experience. If you ask me, a...
