Having just read a negative review of this hotel, and remembering my promise so many months ago to write a review on TripAdvisor, I thought I would finally do so. My wife and I booked a much needed week of R&R last fall and spent an entire week at Luna Blue. I must say, we really loved this little hotel....

After reading this hotels glowing reviews I was disappointed Luna couldn’t accommodate my 4 night stay. My first night I had to stay around the corner at the Aventura Mexicana. Day 2 I moved to the Luna Blue for 3 nights in one of the 2 kitchen units. The room was very spacious and clean, a little rustic. You could...

LunaBlue, Owners at Luna Blue Hotel, responded to this review

It’s okay not to like a hotel and to say so. But there’s no need to make up stories. To begin with, this reviewer’s claim that we couldn’t accommodate all four of her requested nights was untrue. She booked four nights in advance, which we did have, paid the deposit of three nights and upon arrival paid the balance for...

Luna Blue was everything that was promised. The staff were all warm, friendly, and helpful. We tried not to be overly needy, but we did get help booking one of our excursions, and it definitely made it easy! The bar is adorable and Jose is a great bartender. I also booked our ride to and from the airport through the...

My wife and I stayed in 2 different rooms at the Luna Blue in early April. We stayed in a kitchenette room and one of the terrace rooms. Both rooms were really nice. Clean, light and airy. Never met Cheri but Tony was quite helpful. Jaime was also tremendously helpful. The gardens were really nice as well. We took the...

Luna Blue has beautiful gardens and is located in such a handy location but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and modern and we really enjoyed having a balcony to relax on after a day in the sun. If you stay here ask about Akumal Beach - this was a highlight of our trip!...

Luna Blue was a perfect place to stay. The grounds are really beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is mere steps from a lot of shopping, restaraunts, and clubs but feels like it is a world away. Our room was so wonderful. We stayed in a kitchen suite. It had a double bed, a single bed, and a trundle. It worked...

What a perfect vacation!! It was our anniversary and our first trip away from our 3 yr old triplets so we were looking for a nice retreat. We had heard about Luna Blue through TripAdvisor and were looking for a hotel that was not only afforadable but also clean, near the action, and comfortable. Luna Blue and Tony & Cheri...

We had a great week at the Luna Blue Hotel in mid-March, just before Spring Break (a great time to go if you want to avoid some of the drunk college kids). We had a Superior room for four nights and a Deluxe Kitchen Studio for three nights. We absolutely loved the hotel! The rooms are lovely, and the balcony...

I've travelled to Playa several times, but the last time I went was in 2001. The town has changed quite a bit -- some good, some not so good. One of the best changes is the transformation of the old Zanzibar Hotel into the Luna Blue. Tony and Cheri (the owners) have done an amazing job of creating what must...

After reading all the positive reviews and seeing the room rates in our price range we decided to take a plunge into the Luna Blue. The garden area, water effect, and bar are all wonderful. Loved the bar. The hotel is north enough and off of 5th enough to be absolutly quiet at night. Room viente y dos: The room...
