Not a recommended hostel. It is fine if you need a cheaper place to stay. The beds are standard, hostel is cute on the outside, the location is pretty central, and there is a balcony. However, the sheets, bathrooms, and facilities were not clean, there were cockroaches, no breakfast, and minimal security. And the staff was not helpful and not...

2- because the reception girl was super nice and a the people in the dorm were cool. Predominantly, Argentinians here..so if you can't speak Spanish, you won't have much interaction with guests. I've actually found that the vast majority of Argentines in Playa don't want to interact at all with any Americans/gringos..but about 5% are amazingly friendly and warm. Anyhow,...

Besides the good location and the friendly stuff I can't recommend this hostel. The dorms are dirty. The bathrooms as well. You can feel every spiral spring because the mattresses are so old and cheap. The advertised free (incl.) breakfast is not much more than two slices of white toast with a tiny pack of jelly and a cup of...

Besides the fact that Tequilita Hostel is located in the heart of Playa del Carmen, only steps from the beach and famous 5th avenue, this charming hostel has genuine spirit and vibe like I have never seen before. Traveling alone, the staff and guests made me feel like I wasn't. I felt like I was part of a big family...

Place itself it's nice and the terrace and location really saves it. Otherwise, it is volunteer-run hostel with traveler kids (mostly from argentina, in case you wanted to meet locals) running it. Nothing wrong with that and in fact they were friendly enough, but the price is a bit on the higher side for what you get, staff is very...

Stayed at Tequilita for 2 nights. The worst hostel I've ever stayed in. Dirty dorms, shower didn't have a head and water pressure was awful. Rooms weren't cleaned in the 3 days we were there. The staff were rude and spoke little to no English. I was grabbed in the middle of the night by a strange man sitting on...
