Here's a review of Hotel Banana in Playa del Carmen, QRoo, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula. First off, don't stay here if you want a resort because you won't get one. Stay here if you want: --Clean sheets, rooms, towels and facilities, --Access to the main tourist street, Avenida 5, in Playa, --Quick access to the beach, scuba diving, tours,...

This hotel is well located at the quieter end of PDC. Rooms were clean, a bit Spartan and hot water in short supply. we enjoyed our own happy hours on our tiny balcony watching the passing parade on 5th Avenida. Close to beach clubs and even though they gave discount vouchers for Mamitas we found that we preferred to pay...

We were a little hesitant to stay in this small hotel, as we had been happy at the Real PDC AI the past 2 yrs. But since they closed, and this is in the same area, we took a chance. It is a great neighborhood, with many shops and restaurants very near. The rooms were bigger than expected, the water...

This a great budget hotel. Perfectly located, on the 5th Avenue, next to restaurants, bars, shops, farmacies, around 300 meters from the beach. Don´t expect something fancy because this is not the place for that, it doesn´t try to be something is not. It has amazing, friendly and helpful staff, willing to help you with anything you need. I recommend...

This hotel has a good location, and the staff is very helpful, but I did not enjoy my stay very much. I came in fairly late, and the night person was not very clear on some details. The room was one floor up, and right next to the eating area for breakfast (at least I guess that is why all...

This is a well managed, located, staffed, hotel. Our corner room on the second floor was clean and comfortable. There was the constant hum of noise from the crowds below every evening, but then, its Playa Bad Karma and that is expected. We had breakfast, eggs etc., on a couple of mornings. The coffee was decent and the meal a...

The staff and accommodations at the hotel were terrific. They were kind and helped out whenever they could. Housekeeping did a good job everyday. We did not eat the breakfast as we prefer to eat earlier and go out. If you like being in Playa Del Carmen, touristy area, this is a great location. A bit off the beaten path,...

Good location, 5th avenue - 20 min walk from the bus station. Near good option of restaurants, shops, ...and a stone thrown from the beach. Simple rooms, clean and spacious. The hotel is more like a B&B well organized and with helpful staff. It offers a simple breakfast for 40 pesos- skip it. Although it´s on 5th Av. it isn´t...

right on 5th avenue but much quieter at this section of 5th than near the ADO bus station. About 5 blocks to beach club. Hotel loans beach towels to you too. If you don't want any noise request an inside room instead of a view over the street. Housekeeping did a fine job everyday. Room is basic but at $60...

I had a wonderful previous stay at hotel banana and wanted to share that experience with friends . My first visit was so perfect, I was a little worried that I had over hyped it, but the hotel did not disappoint. Location is wonderful, quiet but within walking of everything. Can't say enough good things about the efficiency and courtesy...
