We arrived at Aqualuna by bicycle taxi and were dropped off right at the door step and were welcomed with a smile. A surprise to find an open tranquil garden to keep you cool while it's sweatingly humid outside. Friendly staff ensured our stay was comfortable and our room was kept stunning at all times. Perfectly situated near central and... More

20 out of 10! My husband and I found Aqualuna last minute due to an unexpected change in our travel plans (we were on honeymoon in Mexico and Cuba). We'd already stayed at other hotels in Mexico, all of which were great and pampered you senseless, but Aqualuna, from the get go, was all about the personal touch and going... More

First when we got Close to the hotel I was a bit worried. Same block as the club Coco Bongo :-). However, This is a very well built hotel that when you step through the door you come in to a quiet oasis. A very small inner garden where you can sit and relax with a coffe or tea (complimentary)... My husband and I booked here as a anniversary getaway for one night from our Cozumel vacation. This hotel is beautiful and gets a 10/10 rating for cleanliness. The wifi is sketchy but I find that everywhere in Mexico. We had a wonderful visit but no hot water!

Things to consider based on our stay in February 2016: - room 12 is very spacious and has good natural light--2nd floor - shower takes several minutes literally to warm up, water pressure in the morning can be very low--literally dripping - wifi in room 12 so weak as to be unusable - room is reasonably clean and very charming... First of all, the front desk staff is friendly and helpful but there were a few issues. Stinky sewage smell every time the toilet is flushed. The free bottled water in the room has no expiration date on the bottle, so I feel safer drinking the filtered water (hot and cold) at the coffee station. Housekeeping has a tendency to... More

I stayed one week at Aqualuna this month Nov and it was above my expectations. The hotel has not to many rooms which allow the staff to provide us with great treatment along our stay (special thanks to Eduardo at the front desk). The room was spacious, quality wifi and great location, one block from Quinta avenida and 3 from... More

I'd say the best aspect of this hotel is the reception staff. They were unfailingly polite, pleasant, helpful. However.... The noise levels! Crikey!!! Just half a block away from the nightclub megaplex Coco Bongo, this hotel and its poor sleepless guests are assaulted by the noisy comings and goings of clubbers until well past 3am. Looking for a quiet, restful... More

Everything was fine, very quiet night for sleeping but restaurants, bars and the beach are all within a few blocks. Staff is very nice and helpful and all speak some English. It is a basic hotel with no parking, restaurant or bar but there are 2 garages across the street, one is $160 for 24 hours and the other is... More

My daughter and I stayed at the Aqualuna in Playa del Carmen 2weeks ago. The staff are extraordinarily caring, efficient and professional from the wonderful desk to the amazing concierge, Jorge. Nothing was too much trouble at any time. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, pleasant and within easy walk to all centre of action but quiet. Being linked to 4... More
