My friend and me booked 4 nights, a private room with a private bathroom through booking.com and when we arrived st 10pm the guy was very rude telling us that he doesn't have a room for us and we should look for another hotel (saying that to 2 girls from abroad st 10pm at night!). after some discussions that we... Stayed 4 nights. 400,- for private cabaña with shared bathroom can be little pricey in compare with other places in Mexico, but this is Tulum and higher price is something you should expect in here and cabaña was spacey and nice. Free breakfast on the other hand was really good and everyday different(pancakes, eggs, oatmeal). Hostel is really big and... More

We stayed in one of the cabins... it was ridiculously hot with only a fan. The rest of the hostel could be amazing, lots of space, but it's totally unfinished. A bit of a disappointment. Fully functional kitchen. It was very quiet when we stayed, no atmosphere whatsover. Prices are low.

We usually stay in budget hostels and enjoy our stays but not this time. First thing checking in walked in stood waiting for 10 minutes before someone got off the lounge to ask us what we wanted. Had no knowledge of our booking we had to show the owner on a phone (not uncommon) then made us wait for 30... More

During my stay in Tulum I was in the Hostel "Casa del Sol". I felt very comfortable and the people was really friendly and hospitable. The rooms also kitchen and shower/toilet was clean. Its a big Hostel (3 Etage) with a lot of space and shade. Music is playing in the kitchen and washing area, its not loud so you... More

Very bad atmosphere as the lady-manager (owner's sister) together with her mother constantly watches your every move - you literally feel like in Big Brother show - she is obsessed with the money, cost of electricity and every 5 min. checks if you switched off the light or the fan if you are not in the room. Breakfast is the... More

"Nice hostel" we thought at the beginning but after some days there we can't understand how a person like Lucy can manage the place... She is like a coronel seating all day in the common area saying "Ulisses, come! do that!! Ulisses! come!!", the boy who works there. Breakfast is ridiculous with no variety of nothing, just "tortillas" with egg.... More

Very nice hostel with helpful staff. Lucy the owner is friendly and like to teach you some spanishe lesson. :) The room was clean and the bed was comfy. No a/c but it was fine cause of the two fans. Breakfast included. Nice communal area. Good wifi reception. The tranquility of the place depend on the guest. While I was... More

The hostel itself wouldn't be bad as it has a big usable kitchen, communal area, nice cabins as private rooms for a reasonable price and a nice roof top, although constructions need to be finished. The very poor review is because of the lady who apparently tries to manage it. The only hard working guy there is Ulysses, I assume... More

I think we got off to a slightly bad start, due to our appalling yet improving Spanish. We thought she'd over charged us. I got the calculator out on the computer and kept pointing and doing sums like a bit of a crazy lady, then I realised she was saying she'd give us the change in the morning. I was... More
