Just got back from my trip to Tulum and I stayed 6 nights here, If you are easy going, want something cheap, convenient, clean, A/C, minifridge, free breakfast and free bikes then this is the place for you! It's in a very central location between the beach and the town. We rode our bikes every where from here. Into town,...

I recently stayed at El Punto, and highly recommend it. The location is pretty much perfect, between Tulum town and the beach/Maya ruins. El Punto's decoration is very Caribbean, very original, very artistic. I called El Punto to negotiate price for a private room, and from my first phone call with Federico and then Alejandro following up I felt comfortable....

El Punto was the key to our successful trip, it felt like our home for 6 days. It was really easy to get to know everyone. Federico, Alex, Mauricio, and George. You guys and the rest of the staff are awesome. With a great breakfast and juices to start the day, the hotel/hostel is well maintained. The little pool and...

100% would recommend this place. A small hostel area on the mezzanine with private rooms out the back means the service is totally luxurious! Such a nice atmosphere, we stayed up chatting with other people late every night. The staff are unbelievable! So helpful and genuine. I showed up hot & sweaty and they went above & beyond to sort...

Really kind and nice people working on the hotel and in the bar. Good room, good cleaning service, good prices and very good service. Fantastic that you can rent a bike for free, but make sure you choose the right one. Some bikes are really good, some are so-so and will cause you pain hehe. The food in the hotel...

The hostel itself and its compound are very nice, so is the personal. I, for myself speaking, booked it because of the bikes and the included breakfast. But there are some disturbing issues: a) cash only! Even when you go with booking.com?! Do not pay in advance! b) AC and room. The room was moist and the AC neither got...

El Punto Hostel - Hotel First of all we booked a room here for one night through booking.com which said only the first night was available but not the second. When we arrived at the reception the woman greeted us saying we were booked for two nights. I told her we only booked one night as booking.com showed the second...

I paid $45 for a bed in a 7 bed dorm which I find expensive but I guess it's the high season. I wouldn't normally complain but I've e-mailed them twice to find out if they found my eye glasses with no response. The water in the shower only turned on when it wanted to. You just stand there waiting....

Important: We didn't actually stay. So I can't say much for how nice the place is. What I can say is that we booked this hotel on Booking.com, for ~$230/night USD, before taxes. It did say that they only took cash. When we showed up, they said that it would be $330/night USD! We said there was no way that...
