This is our third stay at Don Diego de la Selva. It hasn't changed much, thank heavens. This hotel is a refuge from the hustle and bustle that has now become Tulum Pueblo, which has changed so much in even a year. Located on the south side of Tulum Pueblo, the hotel is quiet at night. The rooms are spacious...

The view of the garden/Forest through sliding doors of the room was lovely and made it for me. The lady who welcomed us was fantastic and the owner very accommodating. Food was good, pool warm enough. Just beware of mosquitoes at dusk even by the pool near sundown time as we got bitten but only by the pool.

Let's be clear, this hotel is NOT on the beach, so you will need to drive 20 min and find a parking space on the public beach (before 10am is fine). Tulum Pueblo is outright ugly. But if you are OK not staying on the beach, the hotel offers large and quiet rooms (except when the neighbor plays hard rock...

Great, quiet and charming eco-conscious oasis in the middle of expensive Tulum! We chose a suite upstairs with a lovely kingbed, and an indoor terrace fitted with a rocking chair and a hamac overlooking the amazing garden. For better rates, call them directly. Powerful A/C as well as overhead fan. Nice breakfast. Beautiful pool with comfortable lounge chairs. And above...

We lost a reservation at another boutique hotel in Tulum and found the last room here. The staff was wonderful and got us checked in and settled. 3 wonderful nights included scrumptious breakfasts, wonderful service, and excellent conversations with other guests. The pool is nice and large and well maintained but not heated. It was refreshing after warm days out...

Don Diego de la Salva is a beautiful property with lush foliage, a pool, and restaurant just off the main drag in the south end of Tulum. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout my stay. Restaurant has excellent cuisine. Overall, very reasonable prices without all the party time vibe of the beach scene. Would definitely return.

We flew into Tulum and started by camping on the beach. We didn't want to pay the prices on the beach so started looking around town. We stumbled upon Don Diego de la Selva, which was fortunate as it's on a quiet back street. It was a great base to explore from. We got laundry done and got great help...

I showed up at this hotel starting to feel ill. By the next day I was in bad shape. The staff were very kind, and gave an excellent recommendation for a doctor ($50USD) that came and prescribed pills that cleared up the problems. During these three days, my wife and I stayed at this hotel and at least she wasn't...

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Don Diego de la Selva. The setting on the edge of town made for a peaceful stay. The hotel has a lush, beautiful garden and pool. Our room was very comfortable and had a lovely patio out back. The entire staff of the hotel was extremely accommodating and happy to...

This is a beautiful little place located a bit far from the main center of Tulum and some distance from the beaches and the resorts that are located there. But it's very special - like a little oasis with lovely vegetation and a nice pool,. They also raise bees ( the special blue-eyed Mayan ones called Melipona ) and do...
