Most people do not have the ability to create and carry out a vision of their dream with the detail, passion and care that Lou and Moe Pintkowski have inspired at their bed and breakfast, La Selva Mariposa. I have traveled extensively throughout the world and am always looking for unique places that create an ambiance of relaxation, peace and...

My husband and I stayed just 2 nights at La Selva Mariposa at the end of a month long stay in Mexico. We loved the tranquility and beauty of this place. And the dazzling coloured butterflies (mariposas!) flitting about the enclosed compound Moe and Lou have created. The glowing comments of previous reviews convinced us to stay here, and we...

This hotel was the first place we stayed in Tulum and was the standout favorite. La Selva Mariposa is a little oasis of heaven in the middle of the jungle. The craftsmanship that went into the creation of this place is extraordinary. No detail has been forgotten and you truly believe you are somewhere magical. The room was cozy and...

Morning bird songs, open-to-the-sky showers, charming thatched roof, scrumptious home-made bountiful breakfasts, plenty of information for tourist-ing, fabulous local honey and mud products to try, hammocks, waterfalls, plunge pool...Moe and Lou have created a treasure in the jungle which we enjoyed for 10 days in November, 2011. Easy to use taxis or rent a car in town (or through Moe...

In all fairness to the Yucatan Peninsula; it is humid during the rainy season. Sept. and Oct. are the wettest months, so we close LSM and travel ourselves while repairs and maintenance are taking place at the B&B. November, being on the cusp, was unseasonably rainy and cold this year. All guest rooms have air conditioning that help aleviate the...

Not only is it in a great location for those who want to get away from the touristy spots, but it is eco-friendly, unique in its design, and run by two amazing people. Lou and Moe have carved this piece of heaven out by hand, water is recycled and run through out the place to give you the tranquil setting....

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our first trip to Mexico for our 10th anniversary. Mari and Lou were wonderful hosts and so friendly and knowledgeable about the area that our trip truly was amazing! This is the way to go if you want to explore Mexico and do not want to do the all-inclusive route...

Previous posters have said it all it seems.... All I want is a little more than I can get .... if only they had a jaguar running through their jungle. Otherwise it was perfect. The location was a refreshing change to the beach-fronts. It was perfect for the quality-time that my husband and I needed. It was not only a...

Im really miss this place. Now it has been about 10 days since I stay at LSM. And it was my fortune to find this jewel in Tulum. I just stayed only 3 nights and it was short to feel and experience this house. The best in this place is night time. If you turn off your light, there isn't...

We were delighted with our experience at La Selva Mariposa. Lou and Moe are the most welcoming hosts, quick to offer a full tour of the property and make visitors feel at home. The rambling footprint of the accommodations matches seamlessly with the rich jungle that it was carved from. The rooms are comfortable, the pools refreshing, the hammocks plentiful....

A beautifully designed place, intimate and built to be in harmony with the jungle, peaceful, quiet, just a few fantastic rooms. I loved coming home at night to jungle sounds and tons of stars in the sky after a day of touring. Delicious breakfasts, gracious people. Moe and Lou have very good suggestions for what to do. Definitely need a...

Thanks so much for your glowing review. Yes, we have had many other happy guests who have enjoyed the new restaurant in our little village. We hope you will plan to return to LSM and visit the sites in the area that you missed this trip.
