This hotel has a large variety of room types, with a range of experiences. We had a large bedroom and ensuite, with a small porch on the courtyard. The room and bed are comfortable, although there is nowhere to put one’s clothes or luggage away. Great aircon, ceiling fan, and safe in room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The included Breakfast was not good. They will cook eggs, but the rest of the offerings - unripe fruit, watery juices, stale bread - are best avoided. We eventually got breakfast elsewhere. I would stay here again, just get breakfast elsewhere.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights over New Years December 2019/January 2020. I have two very important warnings for anyone considering going to this hotel: 1. The receptionist called Kataiy stole from us. We wanted to go to Don Det for dinner and he told us it would cost 100,000 kip by tuk tuk, which seemed very expensive...having been travelling in SE Asia for a couple of months now it was a lot higher than we had ever paid before. But we didn’t question it or haggle the price as we trusted he was a honest member of staff in a highly recommended (and not cheap) hotel. He told us he could get us a tuk tuk and asked us to give him the cash. We hesitated as this wasn’t normal practice, but in the moment we gave him the cash. At that point a tuk tuk dropped some people off where we were waiting, he seemed to change his plan of action and said something to the tuk tuk driver we didn’t understand and then we saw him give the driver one of the 50,000 kip notes and pocket the other one. We later learned that it costs only 50,000 to 60,000 to get to Don Det. He simply wanted to make a quick buck at our expense. Absolutely disgraceful!! So unprofessional and very sad for us tourists. You expect some random people on the street to rip you off/take advantage of you, but not an employee of your hotel. Me and my boyfriend were absolutely shocked. This tainted our stay here completely. I tried to report him the next day to the manager and I was told the manager had gone to Pakse for a week. When I confronted Kataiy about this later he looked worried and got very defensive - he told me it was ‘his business’ to sell tuk tuk rides and that 100k is the normal price. Completely untrue. 2. We decided to move to the floating studio for our last night there which is $20 USD more expensive. It’s not worth it. It’s louder on the river front and harder to sleep. Also ours smelt like sewage and unlike the rooms on land, there are no mosquito nets. Oh another thing - the breakfast buffet included is not good.

Absolutely loved this hotel. You are literally floating in a hut, a once in a lifetime experience. And yes, it’s all about the experience. It’s not a fancy hotel but it’s clean, has air con, a stunning river view and a nice pool. The walls are thin which wasn’t a problem for us but it would be if you had loud neighbours. The food is delicious and once again, views from the restaurant (especially sunrise and sunset) are incomparable. Highly recommend this place!

The hotel is split between the restaurant reception on the river side of the road and the accommodation on the other side. We had a very nice room with a deck and had a relaxing time. The swimming pool is a little further down the road and was rather heavily chlorinated but rather that than under-treated. It was nice to have a dip after a hot bike ride. The girls serving breakfast don't speak English so don't expect to get your eggs the way you ordered, but the breakfast was simple and satisfactory.
