Convenient central location . Rooms are cleaned daily. Wi-fi available but spotty at times. No business center available. Hot water not available... just warm water for showers, lacks room refrigerators and ice coolers. Canned food, vegetables and juices used at the restaurant.
I made a reservation as a Double Room. But they gave me a single and it was very small for me and my girlfriend. How to cheat the room size??? When i check-in, received a remote for TV. But ANY channel cannot see...only i can see a blue screen and "ninguna señal". it is not the cheaper hotel in this area, but very very disappointed. ahh...and i don't know how to explain about this smell of room and dirty feeling air conditioner. because after i turned on the airconditioner, cannot stop coughing.
This hotel honestly couldn't be better located in Tampico, right on the Plaza de Armas, within easy walk of the city's attractions like the Aduana Maritima, the Canal de la Cortadura and the Plaza de la Libertad. The view of the Plaza de Armas was particularly good from the third floor gym where they have a small pool (good for cooling off and relaxing, not so much for swimming). The gym was better stocked than many other hotels. The hotel feels like a grand old dame and the restaurant (which I appreciated) had a nice Old World ambience. I've stayed in two hotels in the city, the Mision Express and the Inglaterra. While the MIsion Express was very clean, centrally located and modern, and considerably cheaper, I think the Hotel Inglaterra provides a certain romance that the other hotel lacks.…
According to my colleagues (who are from Mexico) the fact that this Hotel is located right in Downtown make it safer to stay than other hotels in town, how come? well, there are always people around and police presence. Mostly of theirs room are double bed (Twin Size), the rooms from 4th floor are nicer than the rest. The room number were I stayed was 412, so let describe my experience: The room was well furnished but I really don't like red color walls. The Bed and pillows was Ok. The room size was average lets say 130 sq ft. Flat screen TV (26") but poor channel offer mostly of the channels are from Mexico. The bathroom has a bathtub but the water pressure is quite deficient, so be patience whenever you want to take a shower. The hotel has a small restaurant that open at 6am and close at 10:45pm. During my stay I ate breakfast twice in that place, however every time I ask for orange juice they did not have any left to offer... I must say that that was really disappointing. The complementary bottled water tasted weird, I suggest you to pick the bottled charged to your room or buy your own from any store. The lobby staff is very friendly and helpful.…
located across from a beautiful main plaza and walking distance from watewrway, shops, mercado and good restaurants, however i found the room musty, dingy and hot but tolerable after dark! maintenence was no help and front desk staff was uncaring and rude. i will visit tampico again but i will try another hotel.
