We had a great stay at this boutique hotel. Amenities included gourmet breakfasts prepared by the owner who trained to be a chef. Different varieties of coffee were served with the breakfast. We liked them all. The place is very clean. The beds were comfortable. Ten minute walk to the heart of SMA. Would stay at Sarabanda again. Five Stars.

I have never previously written a review - of any kind. I am so impressed with my 4 nights at Sarabanda that I am compelled to let others know so they too may experience what I was so fortunate to experience. Paco, Susana and their small and personal team have achieved what I did not believe possible. Paco is a Barcelona trained executive chef who has lectured and published. His food was beyond amazing. Locally produced ingredients with extensive variety and many small exquisite dishes. Learning from Paco the extent of preparation and thought into everything from the sourcing of ingredients and dish selection based on seasons to the different preparation methods involving his extensive kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, sous-vide) and watching him prepare both the night prior and morning of breakfast demonstrated his professionalism and passion for food. He really is a Chef de Cuisine. It may appear unable to be any better but there is the coffee. Paco's deep passion (apart from his family and music) is coffee. He has extensive international experience and an amazing range of coffee beans and equipment ensuring the most amazing coffee in Mexico and even globally very competitive. It is worth staying at Sarabanda for the coffee alone. The whole B&B was renovated by Paco and Susana and their professional team. It is simply stunning. The room was quiet, the bed very comfortable, the temperature easily adjustable to suit, the decor welcoming and homely, the wifi strong and the water hot with plenty of pressure. I just cannot fault the accommodation. I easily walked into town both during the day and at night as it is so easily accessible. I also walked to the lookout over town and the most amazing museum with artists in residence in an old factory. Above all the few staff and Paco and Susana are the most friendly and welcoming people with great local knowledge and masters of the art of conversation. As you imagine I highly recommend traveling to San Miguel as it is a wonderful place and especially to stay at Sarabanda.

This was our first time to San Miguel and to Sarabandas. We were traveling with friends, who booked the accommodations. From check-in to departure, our stay was wonderful. Paco is such a gracious host. Breakfast is fabulous, the grounds and rooms are perfectly decorated, and the coffee is fabulous! When I think about the charm of San Miguel, I think of Sarabanda. I look forward to another visit!

The owner was amazing - and so passionate about his job, the customers and their experience.
We were there for our wedding night and they left our room full of rose petals, chocolate and candles. It was absolutely gorgeous and just like out of a movie.
Every morning we ate a delicious breakfast made by the owner himself with the best ingredients.
Every chance Paco, the owner, had he made sure he exceeded our expectations be it the food, the service, the recommendations, the coffee, the room, the amenities etc.
We can't wait to go back :)

We had an amazing three nights at Hotel Sarabanda in San Miguel Allende. The inn had a beautiful design and the room we had allowed us to relax in style. We had a luxurious bath, comfortable bed, and lovely outside deck where the staff offered coffee in the morning.

Paco and Susanna were the perfect hosts--incredible friendly and accommodating. Paco’s five-course breakfasts were delicious, diverse, generous, and creative, using local ingredients, and served with the best coffees we sampled in Mexico.

Paco, Susanna, and their staff made wonderful suggestions for restaurants, massages, and activities and were always on-hand to help. There are few places we would return, but Hotel Sarabanda would definitely be a place we could spend a much longer time if we returned to San Miguel de Allende.

Sarabanda Hotel ... a touch of the Mediterranean in the heart of Mexico. This charming hotel located in the limits of the historic center of San Miguel was inspired by baroque music.
