We have stayed at The George twice. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is great and our room (with four poster bed) was excellent. I have no hesitation recommending this as a good place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

I have eaten here a couple of times recently and the food is absolutely superb! Sunday lunch is probably my favourite in the whole area, with a cosy fire in the main bar and real country feel. HIGHLY recommended.

Lovely Inn, very comfortable room with 4 poster and lovely full English for breakfast. Really liked the restaurant menu and the food was good, I had duck and my wife had lamb. Car park at rear and very friendly staff. We visited Blenheim Palace for the day and overall had a lovely weekend. Would recommend.

Each year I organise a Gentlemen's Lunch just before Christmas. This year I chose The George at Brailes near Shipston-on-Stour. Sixteen of us attended last Friday where by arrangement we had the Dining Room to ourselves. Baggy Sanders and his most able team laid on an excellent Cauliflower Pear & Stilton Soup, Whisky cured Salmon with Horseradish Ricotta, Braemar Pheasant...

Arrived to a very warm welcome by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. we were moved to a family room as space was available and staff felt it would be quitter as they had a dominoes match on and our room was over the bar. The rooms have been recently refurbished and are clean and "shabby chic". Tea/coffee biscuits...

We were visiting the area so we popped in for a drink, the pub was so friendly we staggered out several hours later, we also went back the following evening. Everyone made us feel welcome. The pub has a great selection of beers and spirits and although we didn't eat there ourselves the restaurant is apparently excellent. Will definitely return...

Impromptu lunch, delicious food, beautifully cooked and served in delightful surroundings. A first visit which will definitely be repeated very soon. Every member of staff made us feel so welcome we could not have asked for more. Thank you.

I had a very pleasant lunch here with my grandchildren yesterday. All well cooked, reasonably priced, tasty and friendly service. The pub must be very old and I assume was a coaching inn. It has a nice back garden which would be great for an evening drink or meal in the summer. Lots of parking. Recommended

If you are seeking lively then this isn't the place to go. It was a nice and peaceful and I felt rested for the following day ahead. The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

A great place to stay for a few days. Rooms clean, warm and comfy. Food good and staff lovely. The only problem is the church clock that not only chimes through the night but also plays hymns at midnight, 4 and 6 a.m.
