If you can look past the unkempt exterior and the fact that the 3 acres of grounds are largely overgrown and inaccessible, you will find yourself in a hotel which is stuck in a time warp, about 20 years past its heyday. The host and co-owner Judith is wonderful and how she keeps the whole place running singlehandedly is a... More

The hotel is a little dated inside but the lady who dealt with us throughout our stay was warm and friendly. The cooked breakfast was excellent, there was a variety of cereals fruit and yogurts (which were of quality and not shops own brands). The room was clean, it wasn't massive but it is only to sleep in. The bed... More

Yes it's tired & outdated BUT we received the warmest of welcomes, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent. Judith is a star! Good quiet location for touring The Jurassic Coast near the pretty village of Branscombe.

Judith is a hero! Cooking and basically running the place. Our rooms were huge with tea and coffee making facilities, bathroom and kids room. The shower didn't work, i.e. no hot water. Lol. Needs some renovation. The most pleasant aspect of the hotel is Kevin and Judith. What a pair, so fantastic. Judith is a legend. They are on TV... More

We've just spent 4 nights at The Bulstone with our 18 month old son, and had a great time. Judith & Kevin were very friendly & welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, 3 courses every night & a big breakfast in the morning. They had a children's dinner at 5pm which was a great idea,... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Bulstone several times over the past few years. Kevin and Judith are lovely hosts, friendly and helpful. Judith's cooking is wonderful. The food is mostly sourced locally and very fresh. It is lovely to wake up in the morning and the only sound is that of birdsong. We would definitely recommend to... More

An old fashioned accomodation with honest rates. Warm, welcoming and hospitable hosts. Quieter location within easy distances to local attractions.Hearty good food nicely prepared and plenty of variety at all meals. Easy to overlook need for updating. Plenty of parking.

Although the outside of the property could do with tidying up, especially the garden area and car-park, the overall welcome and approach by the proprietors makes up for this. Good old fashioned honest family orientated accommodation, hospitality and excellent food whereby nothing was too much trouble. Our party was a married couple with their 96 year old uncle and a... Stayed here for one night as a couple plus my mother as we were attending a wedding locally. On arrival we found there was a mix up with the booking but this was resolved without drama by Kevin the proprietor who was very helpful. This is not the most modern B&B I have ever stayed in but the room had... More
