We stopped off at the Masons Arms on route to south Cornwall. We had a wonderful stay and wished we could have stayed longer - we would love to return. Its such as pretty pub and in a picture perfect setting. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food was amazing! Our room was really lovely and spacious...

We stayed one night in a cottage room. The room was expensive as it was very small and the bathroom was bijou to say the least. Having said that we felt we could overlook this as the hotel had a great atmosphere and was set in a wonderful unspoilt location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We couldn't fault...

We have just had a 3 night stay in this delightful old inn and a stunningly beautiful village. Scenery is pure delight. The Masons Arms is a super place to stay, very friendly and accommodating staff, the food in our opinion was of top quality, we did not find any fault at all. A wonderful stay in this inn and...

We had a lovely relaxing stay. The room was spacious and very clean. Perfect for a romantic trip away. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend eating in the restaurant, my husband said it was the best steak pie he had ever eaten. It is only a short walk to the beach it was just a...

Three nights at the Mason's Arms in a cottage room provided the rest and time away that we sought. The room was well appointed with service and food of a good standard, albeit of a quality 'pub' standard. Slightly scary roads to get there or rather the speed that some motorists travelled these one vehicle width lanes. Tanks your walking...

Booking was a bit tricky. There was a mix up with emails and so I got details of another persons stay. I asked for confirmation by email but this never arrived. The area is beautiful with lovely coastal walks and a very pretty village. We stayed in one of the Masons rooms for one night. The room was clean and...

Loved everything about this hotel. The roaring log fire, the fantastic food, the easy access to the rooms, the lovely staff. As it's an old building (I think someone said it was and old cider brewery) the rooms aren't massive but the space is well managed and we had a sizeable bath and very comfy bed. Branscombe is a very...

Stayed in room 23 at the rear of the main pub building. Large bright and airy room with SuperKing bed. Off this room is a smaller room with twin singles - both share a good sized bathroom. Everything was clean and spotless. Both rooms were very comfortable and finished with a few antique pieces of furniture but done in a...

The staff at the Masons Arms are amazingly welcoming and so dog friendly. The cottage we stayed in behind the pub had a well-equipped bathroom a large 4 poster bed and had plenty of space for the dog. It’s a beautifully quiet and relaxed place to stay with easy access to the south coast path. The food was very reasonably...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name. With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world. The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character. The Masons Arms has been awarded a FOUR STAR rating under the Inn category by Quality in Tourism. ... more   less
