Our family had a fantastic vacation. The room was large and maid service did a wonderful job of keeping the room immaculate and the fridge stocked. We always felt safe at the resort and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food but especially the Japanese

Overall, a nice resort not unlike the thousands of other all inclusive resorts in Mexico. Nothing special. You cannot swim in the Ocean which is terrible (not their fault of course). Just a ho hum experience in terms of food, hotel, location, etc.

As you can tell from other reviews, many of which express my feelings as well, there is a lot to like about Hyatt Ziva at San Jose del Cabo, but for us it was not a good fit. Our issues with it can probably be summed up in one word -- noise. From about 10AM until about 10PM

In our humble experience traveling both sides of Mexico, of all the international guests the Americans are the most generous tippers. Tipping is not required at the resort but is greatly appreciated. In addition, we’ve learned that a dollar or two left behind at a meal or from a bar order will result with a smile from a server and possibly a bit more enthusiasm next time there’s an interaction. As far as pesos go, check the internet for the local rate vs what your bank rate is plus fees. We usually bring $50 or so in pesos from the US. That should cover any incidentals until you are set-up in the hotel and begin exploring the local community. There is plenty of shopping available very close to the resort. Besides, all the stores, shops and restaurants will accept the USD and return pesos to you in change. Enjoy.
