We loved our time here as a family of 5. The villa was spacious and private pool gorgeous. Near by beach was stunning. The greeting when you arrive at the hotel and the gifts you receive are so special, unforgettable moments for my children. Breakfast was possibly the best I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been lucky to travel a lot. However here are the cons. This resort is in major need of a refurb. It’s just tired. The grounds have the potential to be stunning and so do the villas. They just look like they haven’t been touched in 20 years. The towels we were given around the pool were mismatched and stained, there were lots of broken tiles around our pool, the outdoor bath was stained and watermarked. None of these issues ruined our stay as it’s a gorgeous hotel with great staff and a lovely feel. Just didn’t feel it lived up to the way it’s marketed. I’ve been desperate to visit a Banyan Tree hotel for years and it wasn’t as luxury as I expected. I would definitely visit again but just with slightly lower expectations. The other crazy things was the pool music. Blasting out the most offensive rap music full of hardcore swear words. Song after song. I asked politely for them to change the playlist (with my 4 year old by my side) and their English wasn’t good enough to understand. This really needs to be addressed with management. I would have thought such a brand would have rules around what was played.

Hotel's Favourite
Our family of 5 have been coming to Banyan Tree Phuket every year since 2012! So this is very much a second home to my 3 sons and hubby! They have seen my boys grow up as babies to toddlers and now to near teens. Our last visit was in Oct 2019 pre-covid… so to be able to come back really pulled at our heart strings. We all now realise that Banyan Tree is such a part of our hearts due to the staff there- our friends…more than the place itself. When we rocked up on day 1 to the lobby – my youngest (9yrs old) – spotted a long time buggy driver FIDO – and just burst into tears when Fido hugged him. I have this moment on camera – which up until that point – I had no idea just how emotionally attached my boys were to the staff. It was such a wonderful homecoming hug! And then we spotted YAI and AOD – buggy drivers well known to us too! Such a welcome on our first night of arrival! We had a speedy check in to our Double Pool Spa Villa which we had not ever had in our prior years – so it was truly a new experience to have an even larger and more spacious villa and pool – with our perfect view over the lagoon back towards the golf course, and setting sun over Bang Tao Beach. From the get go – we had our own Butler – Tack whom we utilized very much to our needs. He is such a funny easygoing guy… with a fantastic sense of humour! Tack is our everything man! Nothing was too much for him to do for us! The Pillows – I noticed this visit – were plush and in variety of – soft, medium or hard. That was new – and a great detail for comfort. Plenty of bottled water was supplied in the large well equipped kitchen. Daily coconut and ice-creams went down well! Bicycles were well maintained and boy did we ride! The resort is great for riding and exploring! Bang Tao Beach – was surprisingly a downside. We enjoyed riding the bikes to the guarded gate, but when actually walking to the beach, there was a lot of rubbish and debris. Albeit it was post a stormy cyclone, but even days after, more debris was spread out on the land. The govt need to clear the wooden huts that have collapsed, which I think they’re in the process of doing, as it is a bit unsightly from previous years that we’ve come. A couple of times, whilst riding the bikes, we got lost, as the signage isn’t very clear (on rocks). Perhaps (in keeping with the ambience of the resort), wooden flagged poles (even coloured ones ) to point people in the direction of the Lobby or Beach, as we often found ourselves lost. The bikes should also have reflectors – as we rode in the dark back to our villa and I think the risk of buggys hitting bikes would be a risk… and we had children riding. So we continually rang our bike bells to make sure people knew we were on the road. Regarding the Banyan Café which services the golfers and resort patrons – I have always thought that their operating hours should extend past 6.30pm. It was a shame that they still close at the same time as previous years. The ambience at twilight is so attractive there… and the menu is far more extensive than that of the pool bar. So to have it close so early at 6.30pm is a real shame, because with the right music, you have the perfect atmosphere for a beautiful dinner with the wide open green – alfresco dining! Near to British Colonial Style dining that is classier. No walls – and a lot of land ! The Lobby Bar and other restaurants – just don’t exude the same ambience that the Banyan Café has. It could be so much more… The name could also be reconsidered to something more exotic… like the Banyan Bar. I did notice renovations there.. but I forgot to enquire what improvements they’re doing there currently. MUSIC – for all sections of the resort (if not implemented already) – should be LoFi Jazz or similar. Not today’s top 10. Just a suggestion. Banyan just doesn’t seem to be place where you get funk music all day everyday. Banyan in my humble opinion need to cater to the ears as well to ‘complete’ the relaxed ambience. On the upside – a lot of Villas have been renovated. Veya is the new concept for a Health Stay. They have dedicated Villas for those who are staying for a health retreat – and they are the newest in renovated villas. We didn’t get to see inside but the outside looks fresher. The other 2 bedroom villas are being renovated as well. Refreshed to a lighter wood colour, than that of the dark mahogany brown. Still in progress from what I saw, but better. The Watercourt BBQ Dinner – has improved and impressed since our last stays! You select either Fish or high quality Beef (wagyu) and choose your dressings. Previous years, it was not too impressive, but this time it has taken a 180 degree turn for the better! The Fish cooked in either Saffron or Watercourt was EXCEPTIONAL! You can judge immediately if a restaurant is good by how they cook their fish – and this was by far the BEST fish I’ve had in a looooong time (including from where I live in Sydney). Chef Worapod and his colleagues – are a credit to the restaurant! This meal by far superceded all other years of our dining there. The fish, lobsters, wagyu beef were cooked to perfection and packed w flavour! Highy recommended for all to try this restaurant for dinner, and Saffron! The food prices and minibar pricing has come down considerably in price- which is great value for money! I had two massages there- 90 mins which included a facial and full body massage! Considering all massuers undergo yearly and intense training - I would HIGHLY recommend having one or few massages! They did win the Best Spa Resort by Conde Naste a few years ago - which is why I first chose BT. Another standout I have to say that has really improved with all the staff – is that their proficiency in English has scaled up big time! We were impressed! It was one of the first things I noticed when I saw all the long time staff! This made it a lot easier to communicate for our needs. The staff were unbelievable on this visit! It’s like they all went out of their way to come and welcome us back to their home! It was so touching. To mention some: Pool Bar Staff: Tiffy – is the number one person everyone has to meet! There is nothing she would not do for the customers. There was no limit to her efforts in making our family feel special and happy… Nothing I can say can limit the amount of praise that I have for her! She is Banyan Tree for us! I work for Zurich – and I can say that the qualities of Tiffy are outstanding. She has such loyalty and integrity to working for Banyan Tree. Virtues that not everyone possesses! Her ambition and drive to become Pool Bar manager – is strong! Nothing phases her – not even when Banyan was in lockdown due to Covid. Her dedication to Banyan is second to none. She is always watching to see where help is needed. Tiffy is an asset to Banyan Tree. Mr O –our funny footballer pool staff member – who spoilt our boys, played with them whenever he could to make them have fun! He was always there to make our stay easier with the kids. Apple – who makes the best food and curry .. YUMMMY. So good that I have 3 recipes from her now..! Jae and other pool staff were vey approachable and easygoing! Thanks guys. Watercourt Restaurant Staff: Niwat –The food and bev assistant manager, attended to all our requests – and always went out of his way to accommodate our needs. For example – getting my villa stocked with caffeine pods as I don’t drink decaf . It is the little things that made it special. Holding an umbrella whilst I got food from outside so I didn’t get rained on… Literally waited hand and foot. We also want to thank the following from Watercourt: Polla the coffee lady who gave my kids the biggest breakfast hugs every morning , Lingky, Kol, Sarawadee- always smiling and happy, Manus the restaurant manager- more like an uncle to my boys who was wonderful. Patrick –the Belgium Head Chef was wonderful. I fell in total love with his Vegan Carrot Cake (I’m not vegetarian at all), that I requested the recipe. He came to deliver the beautifully typed out recipe himself that same afternoon to me at my villa! I treasure it! Saffron Restaurant waitresses: Sai and Juju – had heard we were back and when we dined there – they spoilt us rotten with attention. Nupen- the housekeeper for our Villa, was so hardworking and so pleasant to us. Thank you Nupen! Can I just say a big thanks to Sittichai the GM of BT, and to Boyd the Hotel Manager and to Fabien the F&B manager. The staff seem happy to be working under your leadership… and it does show! Good luck for the coming year! This clan will be back!

We stayed in Banyan Tree Phuket for 4 nights, and we absolutely loved the property! Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with bright smiles and the grand lobby. The cold and sweet welcome drink, along with the cold wet towel was definitely a great treat in the heat. Check-in was done quickly, and soon we were escorted to our Villa via buggy. We loved how spacious the Villa was! We stayed in the Signature 2 bedroom Villa, and there was more than enough space for the 4 of us to lounge around. Thankfully we had a private pool in the Villa, and we could swim anytime cause we were unfortunately there during the monsoon season. The floats provided by the team did perked up our stay a little! We loved the breakfast spread and variety daily! There was also complimentary spa massage during the breakfast session, that was definitely the highlight of the stay! We also loved how there were complimentary bikes on the resort and we could explore the resort via bikes! We also participated in the resort activities - yoga and activities during our stay. It was definitely a great way to unwind during our holiday. Thank you to the concierge team for buggy-ing us around the resort 24/7! Definitely isn’t an easy feat but they are always so ready on call. Special mention to Kik, the security guard who always welcomed us at the lobby! He was always so welcoming, and knew our Villa number after our second day. He was always anticipating our needs - whether we needed our car or buggy, he was always ready to help! Thank you for delighting our stay Kik, he’s definitely a true gem in Banyan Tree Phuket. Would definitely love to be back when the weather’s a bit better, and to fully experience and explore the entire property! 10/10 will recommend! I love to stay around the Bang Tao/Laguna area as there aren’t many tourists, and there are always so many food and massages nearby!

Good massage. Excellent spa facilities. Can tell they were newly renovated, it was clean and comfortable. Therapist Reya was warm and personable, and gave me an excellent massage. She also took care to make me comfortable, with great attention to details.

Banyan Tree Phuket Cherngtalay Our Great Stay at Banyan Tree Hotel Phuket in a song dedicated to the BTH-team. THANKS! 892980800 The Banyan Tree Hotel in Phuket Thailand is a 5-star hotel that really does provide excellent value for one's money. We had a delightful first stay there in May 2023. The things we really like about the hotel include: (1) the hotel buildings (reception, restaurants, spa) are architecturally beautifully designed and built and despite their age (30 years) in excellent condition. (2) the pool area is generous including pool with water jets, whirl pool and fun items as well as a beautiful 50m pool for serious swimming or just floating and cooling-off in. The pool manager O and his team looked after us well bringing countless glasses of complimentary iced water with lemon and ice-cream in the afternoon. (3) we had a standard pool villa that was in perfect condition, cleverly designed and with a lovely garden. To our surprise the pool was big enough to really swim in as well as cool-off in. Housekeeping were very attentive and any minor problems/requests were dealt with immediately and effectively. (4) breakfast at the Watercourt restaurant each morning was a delightful experience, and the buffet offered a magnificent choice: On the one day where there there no passion fruit when we mentioned this immediately a large plate of wonderfully ripe passion fruit was prepared for us. Tiffy and his team already knew on the second day where we like to sit (next to the lake) and brought us our cappuccino and ginger tea without us saying a word. (5) the "Surf and Turf Buffet" at the Watercourt restaurant was very good and beautifully prepared and displayed. Our table next to the lake was delightfully situated. The "Thai Buffet" in the Saffron Restaurant was excellent with a huge choice of local dishes, some tasty specialities and local seafood (prawns and crab). The colourful and sweet desserts were amazing and the staff knowing that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary had put a beautiful bouquet of local flowers on our table and had a bottle of sparkling wine on ice at our table. A very memorable evening. (6) a truly excellent hotel can only achieve this status through its staff. The team at the Banayn Tree Phuket were all so friendly and dedicated to giving us an unforgettable experience. Tiffy and his team at the Watercourt and O and his team at the pool all went that extra mile each and every day to ensure we were happy and comfortable. (7) returning home to the normality of our life here in Switzerland we missed the hotel and the staff so much that I wrote a song called "Banyan Tree Blues" which is dedicated to the great team at the Banyan Tree Hotel, Phuket, Thailand. You can view the video on YouTube or on MuseScore (with notation for all instruments). THANK YOU Banyan Tree Phuket team and enjoy the song that we have dedicated to you!
