Having read many glowing reviews, we were anticipating a stellar property with outstanding service and facilities. While the setting and views--overlooking the city of Morelia--were indeed lovely, we found the property to be somewhat outdated, and the service ordinary but not very personable. The grounds were disappointing, in that there was no grass and few flowers. The pool was nice,...

Very nice hotel. Big rooms, well furnished with great views of the city. Food at restaurant was good and although steady stream of customers it never seemd busy and the service/staff was friendly, gracious, and attentive Although away from the city center, did not find it difficult to get downtown and explore Also used it as a base to tour...

My familty of four stayed at the Villa Montana recently over a long weekend. Our intent was to use it as our hotel to see the butterfly sanctuary near by. Our overall impression of the facility was above average. We had a full two bedroom suite with a living room and two baths and the price was very reasonable. The...

The rooms are spacious and set in very pleasant grounds, with a good view over the city. However, it is a long way to the city centre and if you are someone who likes to explore on foot, it might be better to consider a more central hotel. Breakfasts are excellent, but our (1) dinner was disappointing in relation to...

We had a very nice stay at Villa Montana. We were on our honeymoon and found it to be very relaxing. The hotel was almost completely empty when we were there and because of this there were few people in the dining room - which was both nice (great service), but a little strange (the service was so nice that...

Traveling from very far away and with over 50 guests from all over the world, I was a bit dissappointed with the way we were treated during my wedding celebration. Although the views are amazing, the concierge staff failed to communicate with adjacent hotel to follow thru on wedding preparations, I was misinformed on times I could use facilites and...

Just back from 8 days touring Michoacan and the highlight was the lovely Villa Montana in Morelia. The raves from all the other reviewers on this site are dead-on. Villa Montana is an understated, relaxed luxury oasis that is an excellent launching point to explore the city of Morelia as well as the wonderful countryside around it. While we were...

We stayed on our last 4 days in July, 2006 at Villa Montana which is perched above the city...giving you a very quiet atmosphere within the Hotel complex. If you are looking for view, be sure to confirm at the front desk, otherwise you may not get a city view! Hotel service was excellent. Santiago, our concierge was extremely helpful....

In May, we spent two weeks in the beautiful state of Michoacán in Central Mexico. During our trip, we had the pleasure of spending seven nights at Villa Montaña in Morelia. Michoacán is the heart and soul of Mexico, anchored by the beautiful Colonial city of Morelia and full of wonderful little towns populated by artisans with unique specialties such...
