A fabulous treat - elegant old-world ambiance with modern conveniences, great food, patient staff, ideal central location and, best of all, fabulous live piano music in the evenings and at Sunday brunch.

Super authentic colonial Mexican hotel experience. OK the others are correct in that it is noisy, so if you prepare for that with some ear plugs, it’s worth the downside. I would like to give special recognition to the hotel’s staff. They are service oriented, gracious and honest. I made a mistake and over-tipped at the restaurant one evening. Service...

We stayed in the Suite Virrey. It's the master suite facing the plaza. The unit has a terrace that is absolutely amazing. Complete with a sitting area, and dining table. Just a couple of drawbacks. 1. The space is open air and not practical to use after 5 since it get's so cold and there is no exterior space heater....

The place was to DIE FOR!! I could not believe it. We drove in around lunch time and we pick it out right there on the spot. So we decided to stay there. It was a Stone building from the 1600's beautiful steps. Beautiful roof top terraces. 4 story atrium. The bedrooms were well, I thought I was Princess Diana...

The hotel is right on the main square and definitely in the best in-town location. There are a number of good hotels on the square that share the same privileged location. I know the hotel was not very busy and while the room had a classy historic feel, there were so many disappointments that I don't know how they could...

Hotel Virrey is considered one of the best hotels in Morelia with the best location. Its near to the cathedral, the plaza, great eats and near the candy market. AMBIENCE: It has this old world charm that we admired. I would absolutely come back here again. Yes, a little noise but it is centrally located. Thats the beauty of it!...

I stayed in six different hotels touring the colonial cities of Mexico and I have to tell you that this hotel and Morelia was one of the nicest stops. The location is right downtown next to the square. The service is what I like the best. Fresh flowers in the lobby and in each room. The bldg is wonderful. My...

We stayed in Hotel Virrey for four nights, and are very glad that we did. Having read other reviews, we expected some noise, and, to be fair, there was some. The hotel is located immediately across a somewhat busy street from Morelia's main square, which is the heart of the city and a vibrant and beautiful spot. Traffic noise, while...

This centrally located old hotel has beautiful public rooms, good restaurant, and an outside sidewalk cafe for people watching. Great location right on the zocalo. The hotel is very noisy. There's a lot of street noise as well as hotel noise which echoes inside the interior stone corridors and atriums. Rooms on the first floor have French windows and a...

This is an elegant old hotel. It is located on the main square of Morelia. Some of the reception staff speak some English. They were helpful and willing to let us change rooms. The rooms on the main street and square are very noisy. Ask for rooms on internal courtyards. The rooms are smallish, pretty spare and simple. They are...
