We stayed 5 nights here after our boat trip got cancelled. It was the best resort experience we have ever had. The staff were brilliant in every respect, the food was exceptionally good and the island itself is a piece of unspoilt paradise. We swam, snorkelled, trekked, but you could also have just relaxed. The efforts being made to integrate the resort with the island environment are impressive and genuine - not just windowdressing.
Paradise... The Pila Island is quite far away from the mainland (2h30 on a speed and good boat), but when you arrive, you really appreciate being on a secluded and remote location. The pristine and long beach just for us, it’s is arguably the best spot to stay and get relaxed on your holidays. Also the infinity pool towards to the beach is really a beautiful spot to be at sunset, so peaceful …a place where you can recharge your batteries from the stressful world. Preserving the spirit of ecofriendly, the resort were beautiful designed on island inspiration. The tents (similar to Mongolian tents) are very spacious, with a large living/ sleeping area , with air conditioning and a huge bathroom with outside design shower. There are also sufficient amenities for personal care. …
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights in this magical island resort. Many thanks to Marcelo Chris and Lix for organising our activities of trecking, snorkelling, kayaking and scuba diving which allowed us to explore the unspoilt environment of the island and its abundance of coral. Great to see that the resort is pursuing initiatives to protect the eco system and local moken villagers. The dining was exquisite and the pool area perfect for relaxing. Would 100% visit again. Regards, Eddie
This resort sits on 5000 acre island which housed 30 household village apart from this luxury accommodation. The resort has by far the best sewage treatment system with UV processing and a solar system capable of 40 Kw. with the sophisticated management system with remote monitoring and load balancing.
We had a wonderful stay at the Awei Pila in February 2019. We felt like we had our own private little island with the beach to ourselves. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the staff is really lovely and the food was good. The hotel also seems to have a genuine sustainability strategy in place and we had the chance to visit the nearby Moken village (the hotel employs people from the village and also invests in infrastructures and education). Highly recommend staying there!
