Two fabulous courses for £13.95, you can't beat it. The whitebait was perfect, soft white fish in a lovely crunchy coating. The roast beef cooked to perfection and served with a nice selection of vegetables, and of course the obligatory Yorkshire pub.

Our Sunday lunch at £13.95 for two course and £16.95 for three courses is exceptionally good value. So glad you enjoyed it and have taken time out to share your feedback with the trip advisor fraternity. See you again shortly

Stayed for 2 nights, huge room and quite plush, plug socket needed near a mirror for hair drier. Food was out of this world, amazing flavours and reasonable price. 1 downside was downstairs heating, radiators not on and fire not tendered. Would recommend for short stay

Many thanks for your constructive feedback. Clearly we (the Front of house team) need to gear ourselves up on the heating stakes. Hope to see you again shortly

Booked a Sunday night at the last minute on a whim. Ok let's start with the room, it was shabby chic and not for those looking for corporate comforts. The room had a free standing bath in it and then a separate bathroom. Lovely comfy bed with good quality bedding. Nice touches of biscuits, orange juice and fresh milk. Some...

Stopped here on our way to York, for one night. Arrived and checked in by friendly efficient staff at the front of house, which is always important. Our room was large and spacious, with a lovely bathroom. The evening meal was excellent, showing a very creative chef at work. Breakfast was fine although a wider selection of fresh fruit would...

Dined on steak night - fab value and good portions however steaks a little underdone - asked for mine medium but more on the rare side. Peppercorn sauce was interesting with brandy but personally not my favourite. The bar and restaurant are soo inviting and cosy on a dark chilly night with a fire on in the bar. The most...

We stayed here as a last minute stop-off on our travels and booked the family room for myself, my husband and our 3 year old boy. Everything from the welcome to the room, the food, the friendly staff, the cleanliness, the style..the whole stay, was wonderful. Thank you again!

We stayed overnight with another couple following a classic car rally. We arrived late afternoon, our room was lovely and clean. After motoring around the dales in an open top classic car the shower was very welcome, nice and hot. The evening mean was wonderful. A really lovely place to stay with pleasant staff. We have already said we will...

A most enjoyable 2 night break in mid September. Comfortable room, excellent food and above all charming friendly staff. The bar man even lent us his own I-pad charger for the night when ours failed! We will certainly return again.

Loverly village. The pub is cute and staff very welcoming. The steak was delicious. Room was nice with loverly views but could with a touch up. Overall all a great stay, well worth a romantic trip away.
