Detailed Reviews

Such a lovely little place and friendly staff. We were in the Garden Room for 1 night and would happily have stayed for a week if it had Blackout curtains and blinds! Just thin voile curtains covering the large patio doors and windows which isn't ideal when you would like a lie in when away without the kids! The room was so lovely , big, spotlessly clean and comfortable with beautiful big glazed doors opened onto a little private garden with chairs and a table and looks out into trees. Slightly disappointed when we found out it wasn't a cooked breakfast but plenty to choose from including fresh juice and even smoked salmon and meats in a little fridge. Overall a lovely stay and would stay for 1 night again but no longer due to brightness in the morning.

Response from Jeremy Chapman, Owner at Lamorna Pottery B&B
Responded 30 Jul 2023
Hi, I am not sure why you were surprised there was not a fry up, as self-serve continental is what you booked and what I confirmed to you in an email. For those who crave bacon there is always the option of a breakfast in our cafe which opens at 10am but as our selection includes over 30 delicious breakfast items including smoked salmon, cheeses, breads (toast) crumpets, eggs, yogurts and hot or cold cereals, no one has asked for the cafe option yet. In fact we are told on an almost daily basis that it the best breakfast on the Coastal Path. Sorry we cannot offer a full blackout! We do not however have voile curtains (voile being the sheer transparent things), Our curtains are white cotton with a subtle embossed pattern and are fully lined, in no way transparent, but as they are white they do let some light through. We will consider a darker curtain when we replace them. As the windows open on to the little private garden, many of our guests keep the doors open at night to hear the sound of the trees and the waterfalls in the woods.

What a gorgeous room! Hugely spacious with everything you need. Jeremy was really welcoming and after a long day’s walking the coast we were so grateful to be served with a delicious quiche and salad in our room - very generous portions. Breakfast continental style in the room is also exceedingly generous and helped us on our way for the next days walk. Recommended without hesitation.

We arrived after a tough day of walking the coastal path, and the owners were so welcoming and friendly. The room is enormous and so comfortable, they have really made the effort to make it feel homely and useful. The breakfast provide was perfect and more than enough! And although we didn't eat from the cafe in the end, we heard a lot of people talking about how good the curries were, so we felt like we probably missed out there! After finishing the walk, it felt like the B&B was ages away from Lamorna cove, but after we had recovered, we realised it was actually not that far at all, we had just been really tired! It was also really quick to get a cab into Mousehole for the evening as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great B&B in a special location. Downhill walk to the cove and onward to the stunning coastal path to Mousehole.
Spacious bedroom with all the comforts. Thoughtful provisions in the fridge. Cafe downstairs in the day for great cake. Also ordered some of the delicious curry for eating with friends.
Ultra laid back - also kindly delivered mobile charger to our next destination when we left it behind - hard to ask for more

Second time I have stayed here and yet again want to recommend wholeheartedly.
Twin room this time because with a friend a great size - lovely and spacious. Spotlessly clean and a great shower.
We had an evening meal of curry which was incredibly delicious and plentiful - enjoyed so much after our long day walking.
Breakfast options were once again generous and varied from vegan ham, eggs, cheese to grapes yoghurt and cereals as well as toast etc. Non diary milk also provided.
It was a treat to stay and be welcomed by Jeremy and Munir once again. Thanks so much : )

A one night stopover as we walked the SE Coastal Path, just over a mile from the path. What an absolute delight, it was really perfect, lovely spacious room., spotlessly clean. We also ate some fabulous food and, the delightful hosts simply couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely stay.

A lovely location just a mile up the beautiful Lamorna valley from the coast path. Our host was extremely helpful and the room very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was a really good, pre-prepared affair with a large selection.
Overall a lovely stay, thank you

I find it hard to understand the uncomplimentary review on here because this is a lovely place to stay and the owners are so welcoming. The rooms are clean, warm and accommodating and are serviced daily, something you don't find in all B&Bs. If you want 5* boutique accommodation, maybe you should pay for that, the Lamorna Pottery is a reasonably priced, comfortable place to stay and is both family and dog friendly. The breakfasts are very enjoyable and nothing is too much trouble for the owners, they want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as they possibly can and this shows.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend and had such a lovely time. The owners and their staff really cannot do enough for you; good old fashioned customer service at its best. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the breakfast is plentiful, freshly cooked to order and served in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Everything is so laid back and relaxed, you are never rushed and this helps you to relax and enjoy your stay even more.

Stay well clear of this Bed and Breakfast, it´s a depressing experience you most certainly do not want on a holiday! Lamorna pottery has obviously seen better days, the little shop and the well kept garden tell you this. But the rooms are a nightmare, the bathroom is a joke and the next pub is miles away.
I did feel sorry for the nice and gentle lady who runs it and gave us nice breakfast.
