Great food and service in the restaurant. The chef provided us with a fantastic breakfast bag to take away with us the next morning because we checked out too early for the restaurant. Highly recommended !

Recently refurbed the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The sun was shining and there was a pretty terrace area. Leo our waiter was very attentive. The food was good - we had mackerel pate starters or small plates which were very generous and burgers and chicken dishes for mains. The price was reasonable. I would definitely go again.

Another very nice meal at The Winning Post; a very pleasant evening with friends. The staff are always friendly and attentive, the food is good and the drinks are good. There is plenty of outside space for when summer comes and there is a good amount of parking. This has become a very popular eatery since reopening late 2022 following a lovely refurb. Thanks to all the staff for Saturday evening.

Brilliant location and food excellent as evidenced by how busy the restaurant and bar were. Staff brilliant too. Room decor very nice with a lovely clean and comfortable extra large bed. However the room could do with a good spring clean in particular dusting of wooden flooring especially in corners and edges to skirting boards, bottom of toilet bowl and albeit shower was powerful and hot the grouting was full of mould. Nothing that a good clean can’t put right,

A lovely meal today at the Winning Post, friendly and efficient staff, only disappointment there was only one smoked salmon portion left which my friend and I shared but there was certainly enough for two, and no vanilla ice cream as delivery had been delayed. Otherwise truly excellent

We stayed here one night and chose it for its proximity to Windsor. It is an interesting place, unlike any we’ve ever stayed. Check in at 7pm on a Friday night meant maneuvering through a crowd of patrons waiting for a table to the end of the bar to get our room key. The room was spacious, decor somewhat rustic and bed was comfortable. Bathroom seemed to be recently renovated and was very clean. We did run out out of hot water after two showers. While they did provide a rollaway for our teen, our room (#12) would be more comfortable for two. Dinner was great and we were grateful to be seated quickly even though they were busy. Breakfast (included with our room rate) the next morning was good.

Family get together. Never seen or heard of this pub before even though I have lived and have family here for 50years. Not sure how that happened! But I know about it now. Well recommend. Great food great service. If you're over 5'5" mind your head!!! Could do with High chairs for weans and cloakroom sink behind the toilet is NOT easy to access. Bad design. Might be a bit awkward for wheelchair access aswell as was difficult just with a push chair

This was our first visit in many a year, and definitely since the refurbishment, and we must say what a lovely place. From the greeting when we arrived, the atmosphere in the restaurant, to the food and the service, all we can say is " What A Gem" of a place. We will definitely be back again.

Superb country pub! It has everything you would want from a gorgeous country pub, fires crackling, a great pint, delicious food and wines, lovely music and the ambience is truly fabulous! But for me what sets it apart is the service and the decor! With the maestro Simon at the helm you are guaranteed in safe hands, nothings ever too much trouble and everything’s possible! Darling Izzy who’s smile will literally light the room up. What you see is what you get, the most beautiful, warm and welcoming young lady that makes you feel part of the WP family! What a great night we had with fiends thank you so much! Love this place x
