It's remote but it really is worth the drive there. This coast is so volcanic and rugged it epitomizes the Icelandic landscape that you see in photos. I stayed in the annex high up on the top floor of the hotel. Went walking trails before dinner, great food, really great, in the restaurant. Brilliant bar very well stocked, staff are... More

This is a lovely, elegant hotel pretty much in the middle of nowhere, except that the nowhere is the beautiful landscape of Iceland! Budir Church is on the property -- quaint & would be stunning for a small wedding. The hotel's restaurant is great, though service is a little slow. Hotel is beautifully appointed & our room was nice w/a... More

We loved this hotel. The location is perfect. Very friendly people. Thoughtfully decorated. Lovely dinning room with excellent food. A number of options indoors and out for sitting and relaxing after a day out. Stayed two days and planning on a longer stay on our next visit.

Stayed here a few days ago for two days and nights. The food was very nicely presented and tasted super. We had prawn cocktails and mushroom soup for starters, and beef and the fish dish for mains. Plenty of drinks to choose from. We had an Icelandic porter in the bar beforehand. The bar is comfortable, cosy and bright. The... More

We spent our honeymoon in Iceland, our first stop was Hotel Budir on the West Coast. Incredible views, delicious food and very comfortable. The hotel is very remote which is why this place should be a destination for vacationers. Our honeymoon was almost 4 years ago and I can still remember our view like it was yesterday. We were able... beautiful hotel in a quiet, lovely location. very cozy - you don't want to leave the hotel; just sit in the bar, drink an Icelandic whisky and watch sea lions pass by. Our suite was large and offered a good night's rest. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning. Kids very welcome, all staff... More

I wish I could articulate how special this Boutique Hotel is. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and generous. Our rooms were comfortable and furnished with a simple elegance. The food was quite possibly the best we had throughout Iceland. Above all, the location was tremendous. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

My wife and I visited Hotel Budir in January. The drive from Reykjavik was a nice drive although we did have to deal with some nasty weather and blowing snow. With the restricted visibility, we had to drive slowly and it was a little eerie driving at night in the blowing snow. We thought we were driving to the end... More

A place on my bucket list, A romantic break to Iceland and my better half picked this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights, arriving late in a snow Storm and a white out, that was an adventure itself. We had great reception and were shown to our room, number 28 with a balcony and beautiful sea view looking South and... More
