Spent a few days in the Lake District at the Damson Dene Hotel as part of a Groupon Deal. The internior of the Hotel is a little old fashioned and the bedroom we had was quite small but the welcome, the service in the dining room and the food were all excellent. A lovely little swimming pool and adjoining gym...

Lovely review thank you. We were very happy to read all of your kind comments and that you enjoyed your stay with us. We also appreciate that you found your room a bit cosy. We do have larger rooms and if you stay with us again, let us know and we'll do our best to sort one for you. Thanks...

Booked 4 rooms for a family of 13 and 1 dog! Very helpful prior to booking and also on arrival. Food is excellent and the gym and pool are a bonus. Staff both in the bar and restaurant are friendly and polite. This is my 2nd stay at the hotel and will definitely return. Wayne and his staff do an...

This hotel is not value for money - Stayed for five nights - very poor house keeping. Room was small, shower not good & bad reception on TV. On departure we made reception aware we were not happy with the value for money. To be told we could have got a cheaper deal, in fact sixty five pounds a night...

Whilst we were disappointed to read this review we must say that these guests booked through an online agent and not directly with the hotel. For the best offers and value for money, we recommend always booking directly with the hotel. It is unfortunate that this stay was by marred by this. We apologise.

This hotel has been a favourite of ours for many years. We have many happy memories, got engaged here, took my terminally ill mother here and they were fabulous with us all BUT this last stay was fraught with problems. We had booked The Bluebell room as had stayed here before, with a four poster bed, jacuzzi bath and a...

We were dismayed to read this review for a variety of reasons. Blue Bell is now family room, as stated, and has been for quite some time now. We are sorry you were not made aware of this at the time of booking. As always, staff went above and beyond to look after these guests but unfortunately it wasn't quite...

Visited at May bank holiday, booked through Superbreaks. The first thing that surprised us was that the hotel was about a ten minute drive from Bowness when it was advertised as a Bowness hotel, although this generally didn't put us off. We had a family room for ourselves and 2 children. The room was a decent size and in an...

Thank you for your review although we are disappointed that we could not make your stay a totally enjoyable one. It is unfortunate that the little things were what caused your stay to be less than perfect. Luckily, those little things are easily fixed! We are pleased you enjoyed the quiz and all of the staff are happy to have...

We stayed at the Damson Dene for two nights including bed and breakfast, dinner on the first night on a deal that is excellent value. To start the hotel is in a superb location, between Windermere and Kendal. The hotel grounds were lovely with a pond with plenty of ducks, ducklings and moor hens, with views from the restaurant, bar...

Simply a lovely review to read and the 5-star rating is nice too! It is lovely to read all of the comments about our location and grounds now that the weather is nice enough to really take advantage of them. Thank you for your kind words about our staff and do visit us again. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights here using a Wowcher deal and we can't speak highly enough of this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff. A very enjoyable review to read thank you. The 5-star rating has gone down well too! We enjoyed reading your description of the views from your room as well. All of the staff appreciate your mentioning their hard-working demeanour as well. We love that you'll consider returning in the future; we sure hope you do. Thank you.

It's a former private house, former youth hostel, former Methodist guest house (and the first Methodist hotel in the country to have a license to serve alcohol) and now been re-created as an upscale hotel. It's in a quiet location; I woke to bird songs and sunshine on the hills. The rooms are rather small, considering the ambitions of the...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, I am finding it a little hard to respond to your comments, as it seems that some of our staff gave you a warm and friendly welcome but the dining room staff did not? Or at least were not as relaxed as you would want them to be. The hotel...

The hotel provided a group of 17 walkers with more luxury than many hotels that target walkers, and at a lower price. The hotel is somewhat isolated, being 6 miles from Kendal and Windermere and with no bus service, so the use of a car is essential.
