Our party of four visited for the half price steak and chips night and had a warm friendly welcome on arrival. We asked the waitress what came with the steak and she said it came with mushrooms and side salad with chips. When meals arrived their was no mushrooms and another waitress/owner said no mushrooms on a half price steak...

My wife and I stayed here on an impromptu stop over en route home. If you have ever been grateful for a place to rest and recoup, you will understand the importance that I place on this little gem. For less than fifty quid, we got an adequate, cosy, quiet and comfortable double room for the night, not including breakfast...

I stayed at the leaking well for 6 nights and the accommodation was very basic but it did the job and was somewhere to get my head down of a night time. My room had coffee, tea, sugar, milk but no kettle or cups to make anything with in a morning... The beds were made every day but the towels...

We visited for Sunday lunch having pre-booked a table at very short notice. We arrived slightly early and the table was ready for us. We all had regular sized carvery meals with a choice of beef, pork, turkey or nut roast. The meat provided was a good sized portion and there was a good selection of vegetables. All were very...

Hubby and me stopped off for lunch midweek to find a small handful of diners. Unfortunately we had to pick the day we were subjected to a running commentary on the EU referendum!! Loud is not the word; I even commented to the waitress it was a shame we had to listen to it. No reflection on the food as...

Four adults & one child went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Food was good & wholesome. Hot plates & food. Very satisfying. Breakfast included refills of tea & coffee & lots of toast, butter & jams/marmalade. Biggest drawback was that the service was slow. Staff very pleasant & obliging but unfortunately not attentive enough.

Husband and myself visited last night 18/5/16 for a steak meal. The meal arrived within a very reasonable time. My first thoughts were the chips were in a basket on the plate which did not add appeal to its look and there was a distinct lack of anything else. The steak was, however, absolutely cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful....

My partner and I stopped here on Sunday, wish I'd carried on driving! Without doubt the worst carvery we've ever tried. Raw veg, even the thinly slice dauphinois was raw!! The beef was chewy and bland too. The chef was cheerful though, telling us how much fun they are having playing up the washer upper!! Perhaps more attention on the...

Firstly I want to say the hostess was extremely welcoming and friendly, that's the best bit. We were placed in the bar even though there were empty tables, but they were for the 'others',( for the local people), we just wanted a drink and a carvery, I had a regular and hubby had a large, Mmmmmm the size of plates...
