We had a very relaxing experience and Jo and Robert made us feel very welcome. Some nice value adding touches and great customer service from start to finish. Our room was comfortable and peaceful. No TV in the room and wi-fi connection was dodgy but we were in a remote location and this is an ideal place for those who... More

I thought all these rave reviews would be over the top. I was wrong it's an absolutely brilliant place to say. All the fine things that have been said about the hosts and the accommodation are true. The pub is pretty good too. Even poor weather didn't spoil our time there.

It is quite difficult to truly given a credible account of how superb the experience is of staying with Jo and Rob at their beautiful house in Alstonefield. To say that they are gracious, accommodating and joyous hosts would be a grave understatement.... Lucy and I were made to feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived ...... More

Just come back from a weekend in Derbyshire. We stayed with Jo and Robert Woods at Alstonfield Manor. It was fantastic. They are so welcoming - they make you feel like you are home. The house is stunning. The bedrooms are all beautiful. The breakfast is just a great experience - candlelight, flowers and great food. I was a bit... More

Jo and Rob have created a beautiful bed and breakfast with everything that you would need for a perfect stay. The welcome on our arrival was fantastic and then to sit down to an afternoon tea with beautiful homemade cakes was superb. The breakfasts cooked by Rob are absolutely delicious. The Estate Room that we stayed in was comfortable, styled... More

After a very stressful journey up the M1 we were warmly welcomed by Jo, the offer of a drink, a comfy sofa and a log fire. The house is beautiful with many period features. A delicious dinner at The George (highly recommended) and then an extremely comfortable nights sleep in our lovely room. Tea delivered to the door at eight... More

Beautiful house, lovely hosts, picturesque surroundings and perfect weather made for an idyllic weekend. We stayed in the self catering part of the property which was great as could have long lie ins and make our own breakfast. There were great and easy walks starting from the back garden and a handy guide within the house. Went to the George... More

Nothing really to add to all the rave reviews. This was our second stay. Jo and Robert are the perfect hosts, the Manor is completely charming, breakfasts are delicious, Alstonefield is one of the prettiest villages in the area, and The George (a 2 minute walk away) a great place to eat. An ideal base to explore a most beautiful... More
