This is our second visit staying in the cowslip room which is located on the first floor of the cottages opposite the pub. Food is excellent however you need to book especially eating in the bar area, not much room to stand or sit with a room. Easy reach of the Chatsworth estate and a 20 min walk across the...

We stayed for one night whilst visiting chatsworth house and the Christmas markets. The service from the hotel staff was exceptional, they couldn't of helped you more and the attention to tradition was charming. The rooms were beautifully decorated (our party stayed in 3 separate rooms) and the beds are one of the comfiest I've stayed in, very cosy. The...

We have visited many times over the years and always enjoyed our stay, be it a lunchtime snack, a quick or lingering pint or an evening meal. This was no exception. We chose to eat here during a trip to Chatsworth Christmas market. Our meal was gorgeous. We both had fish, which was beautiful, triple cooked chips devine, and the...

A lovely cosy country pub. Excellent food - dinner was very good and breakfast too. A perfect location for visiting Chatsworth House and for walking around the area. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Hi, I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to return. There is lots of great reasons to return coming up (as if the countryside wasn't enough!) With Christmas markets and visiting the house when it is decorated, not to mention our fantastic Christmas and New year menus, why not come back sooner rather than...

Dropped in for a meal. Apparently David Blunckett had a cottage here. Its in a small hamlet on the Chatsworth estate. Its a Gastro Pub and the food was good. Sue my wife had the Sea food Risotto which she really enjoyed and I had the wild boar sausage which were a bit dry to be honest but overall the...

Visited here with my Mum for a spot of lunch, we were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of seating. We both choose the cod as a main which was absolutely amazing. My friends had booked a table for us to have lunch here after our visit to Chatsworth house. My Dad is a wheelchair user so the facilities in the rest rooms are always an important issue for us.
