My husband & I were travelling with my parents and The Poplar Inn was exactly what we needed. 2 rooms that were identical with a small area in between to fix tea & coffee. Susan was a lovely host, breakfast was great, we had freedom to come & go as we pleased...she was very accommodating when I made an error...

My family & I stayed here for a very comfortable 10 nights in March - booking both rooms. I ended up staying another 11 nights in the Larch Room (so 3 wks total), due to a family member's hospitalisation & I couldn't have been happier that Susan was able to accommodate me for the extra time (conveniently The Poplar Inn...

Thank you Rhyl. I loved having you. Hope you do get to come back in the summer time. Susan

The location was ideal being just as you enter town so walking distance from everything. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and I slept quite solid. One thing to note is that the walls are very thin so you can hear others in the main house where the owner and her family live. I was also on the phone...

The walls are not so thin as the voice was very loud and it was after 11 o'clock. The sound was coming up the vents. I post breakfast at 8:30 on my website so my guests know what to expect. I try to be accommodating if both rooms agree but because the young lad in the other room was just...

Clean, comfortable, cosy, attractive, quiet. Great conversations with our hostess and the breakfast was delicious. Good location in Banff; we could walk to many places. Will definitely be returning and will refer this place to friends.

My husband and I stayed at the Poplar Inn for a week at the beginning of December. The location is fantastic, just a short stroll into town and also very convenient for the ski shuttle buses. The room was lovely with a huge, very comfortable bed, and having a bath was also a bonus. Susan was a welcoming host and...

The two lovely, comfortable guest rooms face the back and there is an outside area for sitting outside if the weather cooperates. There is also a sitting area with facilities for making tea and coffee. We had interesting conversations with our host while enjoying a lovely breakfast. Susan has travelled to many places in the world and we thoroughly enjoyed...

Pro 1: The location. It is a short walk to the main street in Banff and restaurants and shops. Also it was very quiet despite being so close to town. There is a semi-busy street in front, but the rooms are in the back and I couldn’t hear traffic when I was in the front anyway. (There is a train...

We had a wonderful weekend at the Poplar Inn. Ideally situated, close to everything in downtown Banff, yet off the beaten path. Easy parking out front, which can be a challenge even in mid-September. Great breakfast and good insights from the innkeeper, a Banff native.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our 10 day Banff,Lake Louise, and Jasper vacation and everything was great. Susan, the owner was great. Very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was great both mornings. Great location as it was only a 5-minute walk to center of town. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for two nights as part of a longer trip from Vancouver to Calgary. We had some difficulty communicating with Susan before arrival and considered staying elsewhere. We wish we had. Upon arrival, there was a note on the door and instructions for entry. We tried to get Susan on the phone with questions about parking and amenities but...

I apologize for not being available to greet you. I try my best to be there for my guests but as I am by myself I sometimes am required to leave for other obligations or appointments. I always leave messages for my guests and try to make them as clear as possible. I will make better efforts to use my...
