We couldn’t of wanted more from our stay at the Ptarmigan. Perfect location, close to the centre of town. Lovely room with views to the mountains. Breakfast being included was a bonus with a good varied selection of food. The Ptarmigan included complimentary local bus tickets for our entire stay as well. The Ptarmigan team were so nice & helpful throughout our stay, thank you.
All the staff have been incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was lovely and clean and comfortable, the toiletries provided were amazing! Breakfast included in the price was so helpful we filled up on breakfast with cereals, muffins, cooked breakfast and my boyfriend loved the made to order omelettes, they knew his order by the 3rd morning. Then we'd go out for the day and wouldn't eat again untill the evening. After a long day out in the snow and cold weather we'd warm up in the hot tub and steam room.
This is a lovely hotel in a perfect location for a visit to Banff. Our room was spacious and modern and the balcony was great to have. The front desk staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast was excellent and a great way to start your day in Banff.
Nice property, Convenient Location in downtown. Enjoyed our stay here. Very good staff in restaurant and made best efforts to make it comfortable. For our limited choice breakfast they tried to make it best in what ever possible.
We went for a quick 4 day trip right before Christmas. The room was clean, and very spacious. The morning buffet was fantastic and my kids loved it! Only complaint was we were on the first floor and I would of preferred to be on a higher floor. Also with as many people that there were in the hotel it was very quiet! Highly recommended!!
Very disappointed in these accommodations. Traveled with another couple. We each received windowless rooms(no outdoor view)with a small balcony that faced into a dated, old atrium, spotted with a few old chairs and scuffed tables. The rooms did not have air conditioning and were not very clean. We stayed 4 nights and did not receive any servicing of the room. The indoor lighting was bad and the TV was small and outdated. The bathroom and one of the beds directly faced the door into the hallway, so it was a free show to anyone walking by if the door was opened while in bed. It did include a daily breakfast Buffett which never changed, but it was good enough to start our day. I also plan to write contact the Rocky Mountaineer train company that booked these as part of our package. We had a voucher to dine in the restaurant and it was pretty good. Also location was very good. Walkable to downtown and the river. Pictures show the accumulated dust on the tv, dresser and picture frames.…
Location itself was great, walking distance to everything downtown. The room was fine, completely what was expected. It was a superior split room so it did have an AC unit. The hotel staff were very friendly & check in was a breeze. Check out was mobile, so even faster. I could see parking being an issue, especially in the winter if you wanted to park underground. The only downside to the stay was the breakfast. It was not very good, lots of the hot items were cold and their tiny pancakes were hard and crunchy. Fruit salad was straight from a tin and tasteless. We honestly should have just gone out somewhere for breakfast, but thought it would be fine to grab something quick from the one provided before we started our day. All in all, a good stay & will book here again.
We stayed 3 nights. Hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful (allowed us to rent bear spray from them instead of having to buy). Car parking was good. Hotel room was a very god size, a little dated perhaps, but no real issues with that. Lovely products used in the bathroom. Breakfast was simple, but they had an omlette station, which was a nice touch. Easy walk down the street to the main restaurants/bars area.
Hello, we booked this hotel stay through travelhub.airmiles.ca (via AirMiles) and in the description, AirMiles never mentions that this property does not have an AC in the hotel nor in the rooms. When we arrived at the hotel on July 25, inside the room was already 27C. We tried using the AC thermostat but never turn on. We called the reception and they stated that the hotel nor the rooms have AC. We were horrified. They provided a 2nd fan but to no avail. We opened the interior balcony door facing the dinning room and the mosquitos were welcomed in our room. We had to close the door again as we were eaten alive. Finally, we ended up not sleeping in a room with mosquitos and 27.5C. Just horrible, imbereable. We spoke to the manager Katy Lister and showed her the AirMiles Webpage where we booked our room and it never states that there is no AC in the rooms. They state other things not available in the hotel/room but never mentions about not having AC. We just could not sleep. If we have known that there was no AC in the room, we would have booked a different hotel. Therefore, Please do not be deceived by the nice pictures We asked for a refund from AirMiles and the Hotel both of them denied a refund. They would not care about our disconfort, they just want your money!!!! WARNING, NO AC in this hotel. Watch out, you will hot! :-( It was almost 600$ for 1 single night and we could not sleep at all.... JUST HORRIBLE AND TOO EXPENSIVE!!!! Plus extra taxes and booking fees!…
We stayed 6 nights here and we were satisfied with our stay. The employees were friendly and the room was clean. We got into town early and our room would not be ready til 4pm but the front desk gladly stored our luggage while we explored town. There is free breakfast in the morning. We only had it once but it was good. They have 2 floors of free underground parking, which is very convenient. It's on a space available basis. Only one night we had to park on the street but it's because we got back late. Only thing I wish could be improved is the lighting. The room is a little dark for my liking and my wife had a little difficult time doing her makeup. But no big deal. Would stay here again, especially since the location is very ideal. It's walking distance to everything and the main shuttle stop and grocery store is across the street. …
