No major complaints about this hotel. Stay there was good. Would have been nice if there was a place to purchase snacks or supplies in the hotel. Also would have been convenient to have a microwave in the room instead of having to go to the library area.
It has a good location, but that's the only positive. Parking is very limited and not always available. The "free drink" in the lounge as a bonus for booking directly, was limited to a can of beer. Brunch in the Brazen Restaurant was ridiculous, charging $19 for a single slice of French Toast (Peanut Butter & Chocolate French Toast). There were two hot tubs on the roof, but one was out of order and they only allow 4 people in the tub, so it was difficult to actually get to use it. And when we did, we regretted it. The excessive amount of chemical in the hot tub bleached our swimsuits and it took several showers to get it off our skin.
Wasn't told about parking charges on arrival, and far too much chlorine in hot tubs (only one working and the other one was being fixed whilst we were in the functional hot tub- not relaxing). Room also very close to aircon fans with a constant drone throughout the night.
Firstly, we chose the hotel because it had been renovated a few years ago and its a great location. The hot tub was busy in the afternoon though in the mornings it was empty. We did have a room at the back of the hotel as its quieter. Well-recommended.
Excellent location in the centre of Banff and good value. Good room size and quiet at the back of the building. Staff on the desk were very helpful. 5th floor bar had run out of 'happy hour' beers is the only criticism. Good location also for the ski bus.
We stayed 1 night, there were 4 of us total & 2 rooms. Based on the reviews, this seemed like a good choice. Well it was not! First of all, they were giving hotel guests a 10 minute limit in the hot tub??? Might I add the hot tub is tiny and has a max of 4 people allowed in it at 1 time. 2nd of all there was 1 working ancient elevator, that was so tiny, it barely fit 4 people & took ages to arrive when requested. And the parking here is a NIGHTMARE, it’s first come first serve in their lot, so because it was full we drove around for 40 minutes trying to find an alternative pay parking option nearby, and nearly missed out dinner reservation. At 1:00am out heat stopped working, tried to fix it & the thermostat fell right off the wall. When talking to front desk staff about all our concerns, they couldn’t care less & were completely unsympathetic. This is a very old hotel that had a bit of a facelift a few years ago, but has many things left to be desired. Bottled water in the rooms would have been nice too. The only positives I can give are, Location is Fantastic & beds are comfortable. With all the options in Banff this would definitely not be my choice, there’s so many better hotels nearby.…
The location of this hotel is excellent. The hotel is cute and welcoming and the rooms are nicely renovated and are a good size. Two complaints we had were a pair of soiled swim shorts was found behind a chair in our room, presumably left behind by a previous guest. Our 2nd complaint was that for the 3 nights we stayed here, we were unable to use the rooftop hot tubs which was a main reason, other than location, that we booked this hotel. One hot tub was out of order during our entire 3 night stay and the other was restricted to a 4 person minimum so each time we attempted to go to the hot tub (several different times during the day and evening) we were unable to use them.
I went with my friends just for a getaway in the mountains but when we went to check in and I ask for the hot tub hours they said it’s not working. We were so disappointed because that was the whole reason to go in the mountains and relax and then they said that there will be a power outage for two hours in morning. It was -15 during that time. Over all if we paid that much money we should have all the amenities. Over all it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
Hottub not working and small for the size of the hotel. We got a free upgrade at checkin but we weren’t informed that our new bedroom would have excessive noise from the road. There was a ball of hair on the shower wall. We informed the front desk and they told that someone would come and clean it while we were out. We were back from dinner and nothing was done. The power of the building went off at 6am and it wasn’t informed at checkin. There was only a note at the elevator about it
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, great hot tub and lounge on the roof, amazing location.Room was very clean , nice luxurious robes provided were a wonderful touch that you can just put on and get to the hot tub. Our favourite hotel to come back to.
