This hostel and the Manager Tony are the warmest, kindest, and comforting things about being on the Bow Valley Parkway! My friends and I stay here as much as we can when we just need a cheap, and beautiful weekend away from the busy-ness of the City!! Tony takes great care of us, and this resort. The kitchen is fully...

I was travelling with my sister this past summer. This hostel was a welcoming and great place to come back to after a long day of hiking. Tony and Jamie were very helpful, and the environment was very conducive for meeting other fellow travelers from all over the world. We had a fantastic time, and would recommend this hostel to...

Anyone with a true appreciation for the great outdoors will enjoy their stay here. The staff are super friendly, helpful & accomodating! The facility has a very rustic and cozy feel to it. Good vibes all around!

My wife and I stayed there during the winter and it was fantastic. Great location, comfortable facilities, and wonderful host. It made for a perfect little get-away even in the dead of winter with temperatures below -30 degrees Celsius.

My daughter and I had a great stay here! It was her first time at a Hostel and we couldn't have picked a better one. It was clean, the beds comfy, location beautiful and the manager Tony was very friendly and accommodating. Being a family of 5 we likely wouldn't stay here on a family trip .... but when it's...

We were a large of group of hikers who rented out the whole hostel from August 26 - September 2, 2015. We stayed in the hostel as our base, and did day hikes from there. The location of the hostel was excellent, even though finding it was not very easy as there are not good signs driving from west to...

This hostel really is your "family cabin in the woods". Huge, well stocked kitchen, comfortable big living area with lots of room to read while listening to the river or the wind. Some nights Tony (the manager) will light up a big fire in the back. It's like being at summer camp for adults! Tony was super nice and helpful....

I stayed there with some friends for one night. We re not the type of guys who break things and do noises. The idea was stay day and made a BBQ and a chill out. But the guy who work there was so mean. He was the whole day following us, saying what we can do, what we was doing...

For some reason I managed to stay in most of the other hostels along the Parkway (Lake Louise, Mosquito Creek, Hilda Creek, Edith Cavell), but never this one. We stayed as a group through the Alpine Club of Canada and I will most definitely be back. This hostel isn't like the other wilderness hostels for it offers hot showers, real...

Rustic feeling cabin near Castle Mountain junction. There were basically max 4 guests at a time for the month of May. The dorms were big but felt cramped (especially the boys when I saw the sleeping quarters for my boyfriend). They were very strict about boys and girls not entering the other rooms which I felt was kind of childish...

“There is a Girls Dorm with 7 bunk beds to house a total of 14 people. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.”

“In winter, top bunks are warmer (heaters blow air up against the ceiling, so it gets stuck up there), and lower bunks are cooler. There are adjustable thermostats in the rooms though (thank goodness or I would have kept dripping sweat on an upper bunk). Mattresses are very comfy.”
  • The little window by my bunk (does not open)
  • Female dorm - my suggestion to virtually every hostel out there is to add some more hooks
