Stayed in a room with my son. The room had dirt on the floor and a fermenting cup of ???? in one of the lockers. Gross. Had been there for ages and there was more garbage in the lockers as well. Ate in the restaurant....More
I booked this mostly to give my college-age daughter a sense of what hostels are like.
I was nervous that I'd be out of place as "the mom" but I was pleasantly surprised by all the ages represented...this is definitely not just for young adults....More
Have never done the hostel thing before, and this was a great first stay. Clean accommodation, super-helpful and friendly staff, great amenities and facilities, great location, all for a great price.

Good value for money when talking about private room but way much basic than what is offer in other hotels (cleaniless was not the best, no decoration, really small). Plus, slightly out of town and not easy without a car.

Hi, all three of the snow resorts have transportation leaving from the town. Norquay is 10 minutes away, Sunshine is 20 minutes and Lake Louise is 40 minutes away. All three have their advantages and it's worth visiting all of them! The HI-Banff gives guests a free city bus pass, so you can take the transit right from outside the hostel to the snow bus hub and from there to your ski/board destination - plus it gives you transportation to a lot of the other local attractions for free.
