We booked a place on this campground for few days. We start some trips from this location to different destinations near Jasper. We found friendly neighbors and talk every evening about our visited areas. There are so many unbelievable places around Jasper. So we like Jasper and this campground. Especially the Wapitis visit this campground often and this is absolutely...

We stayed during the winter months at this campground. There was a lot of space and you can chose between a spot in the forest or nearbij the showers. The showers were clean and warm. Rangers also patrolled the campground on regular basis. We were the only ones at the campground and really enjoyed our stay!

We love this campground BUT we go in mid to late September after the summer rush. The sites could be more private but we park our van and use our EZ Up to provide some privacy and we always book in the FF loop right on the river. GORGEOUS River and hiking trail along the river. And magnificent Elk in...

If you're staying in Jasper, then this is one of two choices (& I think the other campground near town is much larger). How people rate their reviews I think depends heavily on whether they are camping in a tent or an RV i.e. in a tent folks rely much more heavily on the facilities at the campground. For an...

We had one night and had a lovely stay! Whistlers was full, and we were directed here, but we were very happy. We had a site about 50m from the river, and hooked up to water and electricity in our 4 berth RV. We didn't have our own fire pit, but we had the option to use some near to...

We stayed in Wapiti for one night and found it to be very peaceful and clean. The campsites in our loop were nicely spaced out. We had a large herd of Elk in our spot for a couple hours as we cooked and ate dinner. It was a wonderful experience. If you intend on taking a shower, I would suggest...

We went to Wapiti as Whistlers was full and we were on a last minute visit. So disappointed. The staff directed us into a site they said would accommodate a large unit such as our's. (326 Cougar 5th wheel) Firstly, the site was far too small to park our unit and pickup (unhooked), and then when trying to exit the...

Wapiti is one of the best campgrounds we went as a family. The sites are spacious and all have fire rings, the location is wonderful. It is not walking distance to the town of Jasper. We had many Elk Wapitis walking through the camp ground, which was amazing for the kids to see. Its located at Athabasca river with very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On the shore of the Athabasca River, Wapiti campground has nice private sites for tenting and electrical hook up spots for RVs. However, what makes Wapiti unique is that it operates year-round, offering 362 sites in the summer, and 93 winter camping spots with amenities like hot showers, electricity and fire rings. Wapiti is a great campsite for family outings at any time of year. It’s close to town for supply runs or rainy day movies, and in the winter campers often get first crack at the slopes and cross country trails (because to really appreciate a campfire, you have to use it to thaw your ski boots!) ... more   less
