We have stayed at the Overlander Mountain Lodge many times, and in the past couple of years we have noticed that things aren't quite as nice as they once were. Our most recent stay in one of the cabins was nice enough, but the cabin...More

We (two couples) enjoyed two lovely days at the Overlander. It is located just outside the Jasper Park East boundary but not as far as Hinton. The setting is beautiful in the forest overlooking majestic mountain peaks. The larger and more expensive rooms are located...More

Great views and good value compared to staying in Jasper. It was a busy long weekend but the lodge was nice and quiet. Room was simple but clean. Food was amazing. Totally unexpected. Great service from all of the staff.
it s quite far actually, at it s at the gate of the national park. I would say 1 hour drive more or less. Hinton is the closest town which is just outside the national park, about 20 minutes drive.

The Overlander is a short distance from Jasper Park gates. You will need to purchase passes to the park. The park wardens at the gate will be able to give you information regarding the hiking trails. I know there are trails just inside the gates; however depending on your skill level and the distance you want to hike it's a good idea to check with them before you attempt the trails. Hope this helps.
