I stayed on the 14th floor with the harbour view. My room was enormous and beatifully appointed with a view that could not be beat. It was a corner suite with wrap around windows so I watched the sun rise every morning. Bedding and mattress were very comfortable and bathroom met my needs.
Everything about our stay was amazing except for an unpleasant overcrowding in the elevator with hockey bags and too many people. I pointed this out to the front desk and they mentioned it to the manager who followed up with us.
The hotel is OK. Not many better options in Nanaimo. I was travelling alone for work. The Minnoz restaurant is good. Hotel room are decent however I’ve stayed a few times before and this trip my room was not very clean (smudge marks left on side table and windows from previous guest). The Parkade is not locked at night and due to the many homeless people residing in the area it made me feel unsafe walking in the Parkade alone. I had a very rude and condescending front desk staff member experience when I called back to have my Invoice sent to me. She was very snarky and condescending. Don’t expect top notch service here.
Hotel was clean & staff were friendly. My room was a little more outdated than other rooms I've had but overall experience was great inside the hotel. Wandering around outside & parking in the parkade might make some feel uncomfortable with the amount of vagrants
Reservations gave us a great rate! Room was clean and comfortable! Staff was welcoming and helpful! There was even a welcoming dessert in the fridge for us when we arrived. Front desk representatives were very efficient.
Had to call the front desk at 02:15 am as our next-door neighbors returned from a bar closing and had 4-6 people in their room and adjoining room door was next to my bed they were extremely loud woke me up. Front desk said they would send security up, but it took another 30 minutes before the people were quieting down, ruined my sleep on our last night there but otherwise was great!
It was pleasant, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. No designated parking is a bit of a pain as the underground parking can be busy at night. I am new to the area and it would be nice to have some help figuring out the local area amenities.
Excellent hotel and front desk staff. In fact we travel a lot and the front desk staff here was the friendliest we’ve had in some years. Stayed for 6 days and enjoyed it. Location is excellent next to water front. We had a dog with us and no issues and staff were excellent with dogs. Room servicing was great.
The Coast Bastion was a great place to stay. Centrally located, gorgeous view of the ocean, clean and comfortable. Parking was available for a nominal charge and easily accessible. Customer service was friendly & helpful. Next time I will stay longer and check out all the amenities.
Stayed here for our 1st night on a recent trip to Canada. The hotel is easy to find which is handy as we arrived after dark. There is a waiting area in front of the hotel for you to check in and get a parking pass for use at a nearby parking garage. There is a covered walkway from the garage to the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and we awake the next morning to a lovely view of the marina. A restaurant is on site which serves very good food at a good price.
