Wanted a clean, simple place to stay with kids. 2 bedroom suite was a bonus. There were definitely attempts made to update the room - a ?single layer of paint, newer headboards. However, the cursory attemps did not cover up the smell of mould. Not just mustiness, but a real mouldy smell. My husband was gagging on the smell and...

I have stayed at this motel before and did not have an issue. The room was large with Kitchenette, coffee machine and TV. Free WiFi was easy and fast. The place itself shows signs of wear ( stairs and some bathroom tiles) but nothing shocking. I stay here because it is centrally located and for $ 62.10 plus taxes it...

Much better than it would appear to be from the road. Nicely refurbished rooms, comfortable bed with very nice bed line and pillows. Clean room and bathroom, plenty of towels. I would stay there again

"Not beautiful - but completely ok" Yes, it is a bit run down and it is not down town, but it's a five minute drive to the wonderful Maffeo Sutten Park or the central city street with nice cafés and the room we had was clean and absolutely sufficient for our needs. In fact it was probably the most comfortable...

We booked this hotel last minute Friday before the Labour day weekend, and it was pretty much the only hotel that allowed dogs. The price was very reasonable and they did not charge for the dog, which was nice of them. We also had a room over the check in office so there was no one under us in the...

I must confess that this was not my first choice in Nanaimo but looking for a more affordable place after spending some weeks at the Days Inn several blocks farther from downtown, picked up the Diplomat after checking several other motels in the same area. Let's be clear, this is a budget motel, but once that's said, the rooms are...

Nice motel only about 10 minute walk from city centre. Room size very good with separate lounge area from bedroom, with an ok bathroom. Some eating areas close by but nothing fancy, so may have to go more to the city of after decent meal. Check in and check out all ok, and staff seemed ok, but after check in...

We stayed here for one night. We stayed here years ago and it definitely has changed for the better. We had a corner family suite. Front had a queen bed and there was a queen bed in back bedroom. White duvet covers were very nice. Very quiet in the bedroom, some traffic noise at front but nothing too annoying. Mini...
