Detailed Reviews
Room was immaculate, and beds very comfy. Room had the nice heater/ac unit which has the constant fan option- we like the white noise of this which filters out any noise from the hall or other rooms. We were driving to Alaska and with the need to start driving early it was nice having the Denny’s restaurant attached to the hotel.
At $71US this hotel was a great value. I would stay here again for sure!

Great location, with restaurants nearby, and easy access to the main road to anywhere you need to go. We stayed on the second floor of the main building, and although our room was clean, it was a bit run down. The washroom in particular needs renovation (if you’re a 200 lb. person, good luck with the small toilet!). Small tv in big room. Soft beds. Stinky pillows and second floor hallways. Staff were great, although all of the perks on our online ‘deal’ had to be asked for. No business center for accessing printed boarding passes (old fogies beware!).
Nice to have Denny’s on site, very busy on weekend mornings, though.

This hotel has incredibly comfortable beds. Had a great sleep. The staff are friendly and the hotel is conveniently located to Denny’s, Moxies, Earl’s and Pine Center Mall. I only have two complaints about this place - one is that the bathroom in our room was so tiny if I were a heavier person I’d have to step into the tub to close the door! Also, our room had no fridge.

Hotel's Favourite
One of the nicest things about dealing with the Sandman group of hotels is that it doesn't feel like we're "dealing" with anybody. It feels like we're visiting some friends.
Granted we have stayed at the downtown Sandman in Prince George quite a number of times but practically everyone of their employees (new or veteran) we have talked to are friendly, honest and helpful. Just as you'd expect from friends... or even your own family.
Christian on the front desk in Prince George is a prime example. He knows his stuff, (kudos also to his trainers and team mates). He remembers what we like as far as room placement and features and he really cares. He does.
The location is great, the rooms are clean, generally quiet and well appointed and the area has some decent restaurants. Stay a day, it will be great... stay the week and you'll really see what we mean.
Want that something special in a hotel? Look no further than the staff at the Sandman. If you remember please tell Christian that Grant and Elizabeth from Smithers say hello.

5/5 for all interactions,
Check in was quick and friendly, the staff member was very polite and informed me of their amenities and where they were located in the hotel. I liked the NCF style key cards, makes it easy to get into your room in a breeze, plus the door wasn't weighted so it opened and stayed open so you can put all your bags in without being weighed down by the door.
The room was on the backside of the hotel complex looking onto the suites building which made it great as it was super quiet and it made it easier to sleep. The room was small but well appointed with a great sized bed and washroom (it was split with the sink outside of the shower/toilet). The room had a nice sized desk and TV (never did watch any TV, but it was there)
The bed was very comfortable for both nights that I stayed, throughout my stay all the staff were friendly and helpful. Even when my keys quit working on Saturday night the front desk staff member were quick to fix them and get them reactivated. The onsite restaurant was excellent quality and friendly staff. The hotel is also within walking distance to a couple of nice restaurants as well that I tried out.
The check out was easy and they allowed me to settle my bill prior to formerly checking out of the hotel before heading to the airport.
Overall if you're looking for a great hotel with great staff a decent price this is one to go to. I'd for sure stay here again and check out the other Sandman locations in my future travels.

Be advised, in switching from a standard queen to a deluxe double in order to have a small refrigerator in my room, I went from a hotel room to a motel room with an exterior entrance. The batteries in the smoke detector failed at 3 a.m. the first night. The front desk person asked me if I would be sitting in my arm chair and then proceeded to stand on it to change the batteries. Three nights in, after frantically searching for my personal credit card, I cancelled it. Two days later, front-desk staff handed me my credit card attached to a sticky note with my room number on it, but nobody bothered to tell me I had left it there when I checked in. I called down to the front desk one morning to ask that when housekeeping picked up the garbage I had bagged and left outside my door, could they bring extra coffee? Later that night, no coffee. I was told to come down to the front desk and get it (which meant putting on boots, coat etc.) In an effort to say something positive, the young man working the day shift at the front desk was helpful and the bed was comfortable. You can stay here. Just don't expect hotel staff in general to care that you are.

The nice, new hotel is by Canadian Brewhouse. This hotel is best suited for work crews. That was our mistake. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room had a double bed. It also hash a towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door from the previous guest.

This is more like a letter of thanks than a review.
You know when you can't have something that you are regularly used to enjoying and for any number of reasons you're not allowed... then you find you REALLY REALLY want it? Well my wife and I have that craving for the Sandman in Prince George. They have made themselves an valued part of circle of friends and right now.. well right now in with the COVID-19 pandemic a pleasure trip to see and stay with them is just not in the cards.
Without a doubt we will see them again and hopefully sooner than later. We look forward to the friendly service, the honest "happy to see you" attitude, the well kept well appointed rooms that they already know we like. The fresh apples on the counter... everything that makes staying there such a relaxed and enjoyable break form the every day.
Thank you Sandman... see you soon.

+1
One star because I can select none. Checked in on a Friday night. Greeted by an empty bacardi bottle beside the front entrance. Should have been the first clue to move on. Made it to the "suite" greeted by a stench of old cooking oil I know now was coming from the range hood. Settled in and stated to notice just how filthy the place was. Found a pair of jeans in the living room along with a very long grey hair which didnt belong to any of us. Wiped blood off the door of the fridge, coffee spills down the dishwasher onto the floor. Milk or something all over the office chair, easily wipes off with wet paper towel. Old kraft dinner was also still on the floor. Short and curlies all over the bathroom including the counter. Not sure what the cleaner did in this room, but it didnt involve cleaning. Thats it was are outta here. Have included pictures of our room. Disgusting and I will never stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I want to apologize that we fell short of your expectations. I am sorry that our parking lot and room cleanliness did not meet your expectations. I appreciate that you took the time to share your thoughts so we can improve upon these areas. Our team is aware of the missteps they took and we hope we get another chance to show you a true Sandman experience. I would love the opportunity to discuss this further. Can you please contact me at gm_princegoerge@sandman.ca? Sincerely, GM-K.Schmitz

I had a ground floor room with no outside door, only interior one, and remember a catwalk on floor above me - so my answer is no balconies. Be careful, there are two Sandman hotels in Prince George - one is the older one that I stayed at, the other is the newer one "The Suites". Friends stayed at Sandman Suites this winter and said it was very nice, but very pricey. Think there much better choices for motels/hotels in Prince George
