Finished a cruise from Japan and stayed here before returning home. We had stayed in Douglas house next door 12 years ago and really enjoyed it so that is why we thought we would try this place. Accommodation was nice, had the two bedroom suite in the basement, but security needs upgrading to modern standards as a basic lock and latch is...

The location was excellent, just 5 minutes from the subway station to downtown/YVR and to major shops. We stayed in the 2-bedroom unit in the basement which had large windows and private bathroom. Heating and cooling was a little trickier to get the hang of, but it's not ever particularly warm or cold in Vancouver, so no big deal. Additional...

I loved the ambience of this house. Unfortunately, I had to be moved from the house to the one next door, Douglas Lodge, due to some allergy issues. The staff were amazing, very accommodating! There was no problems with moving me to the house next door after I developed a bad headache due to allergies.

very convenient en suite bedroom, room G on first floor. Bed comfortable and good clean shower room. Walking distance to main bus route, ferries at the river to places like granville island and a supermarket. We had use of kitchen fridge. Excellent breakfast room.

The location is perfect. Central spot between downtown Vancouver, Granville island and local breweries. We didn't spend much time at the bnb other than to sleep and eat some delicious breakfast but that's exactly what we wanted out of it. Next time we visit Vancouver, we will definitely book here again.

This B&B is located in a walking-friendly neighborhood, just one block off main artery, Cambie. Choice of restaurants close by, in addition to drug store, drop-off laundry and some shopping. Three blocks from train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Basement room (C) was spacious and comfortable; could accommodate three in our travel party. Breakfasts were delicious but 7am start time...

I stayed here for one night while attending a couple of Vancouver Canadians baseball games. The location was great - just off of Cambie. The Sky Train was just a couple of blocks away and gave easy access to downtown. I was able to take a bus to the baseball game, but walked back. I felt very safe and enjoyed...

Stayed there recently while attending an event at BC Place. Very close to the Skytrain station and we were pleased with our room which has a great outdoor balcony and seating area. The service from staff was excellent and we would definitely return.

We stayed here for two nights at the start of our holiday. Although Cambie Lodge is ideally located to walk into the City or catch public transport, the room we had was so small that with our suitcases in there, there was hardly any room to walk around the room or put anything down, toiletries etc. Breakfast was nice and...

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
