We were going to join our cruise ship in Vancouver and rather than risking delayed flights travelling on the day we decided to go the day before. We stayed overnight at the Sutton Place and it is a wonderful hotel. The check in was flawless, the porters help you out of the car and take your luggage to the rooms... More

We had originally booked another hotel but at the last minute they were unable to confirm our reservation. We were provided accommodation at the Sutton Place as an alternative. We had a 1 bedroom suite. It was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Room service was terrific. Centrally located in the downtown core. I would return here again.

For big cities with many great choices of highly reviewed properties, it could be a challenge deciding on one. I am very happy we selected Sutton Place Hotel. In Vancouver for 5 nights and we walked, took buses, and water taxis everywhere. We hit every major area in Vancouver, Granville Island, Stanley Park, and University of BC. The location was... More

My wife and I visit Vancouver usually once or twice a year. One of our favorite travel destinations in the world. We've stayed at the Fairmont and the Marriott Pinnacle as well as Sutton Place. But for the money---usually $100 less per night---you honestly cannot beat the ambiance, amenities, room size and quality AND location of Sutton Place. Try it,... More

We stayed at this hotel for five nights during a business trip. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Great breakfast in the hotel but a bit pricey. Location is very central with many things within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable

Very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Not disappointing by any means. Bed was wonderful, as was the room with view of street. Short walk to waterfront and great restaurants, but did enjoy the hotel offer for breakfast and pub. All and all a wonderful place to stay and see the city.

I recently spent 3 nights at this property. My visit was a combintation of business and pleasure. The staff is exceptional, everyone was professsional and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The desk and dresser was a litle worn around the edges although that did not bother me. The towels and linens were both top notch.... More

Well situated upmarket hotel in downtown Vancouver. Good shopping and restaurants within a couple of blocks. Nice rooms are spacious and comfortable. The reception staff are very attentive and helpful. Only eat breakfast which was acceptable but not exceptional. The bar was ok, but I felt didn't live up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Booked based on other trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. A big comfy bed that we just sank into. No issues with noise even though it seemed a busy hotel. Staff were helpful. Very close to Robson St which is good for shopping and food, a lot of places of interest within walking distance. Definitely would stay here again.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
